Another great holiday in the Altamar
Jonathan, United Kingdom
This is the second time that my family and I have stayed in the Altamar. A fantastic 3 star location with epic views from all apartments. The Hotel has 2 very good pools both with a children's section, I would say that some of the sun loungers don't have enough of the mattress tops. The All Inclusive option is by far the way to go, from 11am - 11pm you can fill your own glasses with Tropical Lager, Sangria, Wines and soft drinks at the drinks station which means no queing at the bar. One suggestion would be to locate a drinks station at the big pool as its a bit of a walk to the Bar Area to get a drink. The food here is great and everyone is catered for with a fantastic array of dishes that are continuously stocked up. The chefs do an awesome job even at peak times. During our stay the lift A was not operating correctly and on a least 4 days it was closed due to maintenance, this would probably not be required if the customers in the hotel using it used it correctly. On one occasion I witnessed about 17 people cram into it some with luggage its no wonder it was under stress. Also if you are waiting for the lift and its coming down and you want to travel up you need to wait until it comes up before getting into it as you will spend unnecessary time in it. Overall this is a really good 3 star option for the price you pay which is why we returned this year. Stayed August 2016, travelled with family
The best thing about my stay was...All Inclusive Drinks

Good budget hotel
We had originally booked Servatur Puerto Azul hotel with Alpharooms 9 months before going. 3 months before going i was informed the hotel was overbooked and we were offered Altamar for the same price. We took the offer, although i was disappointed first, but once we checked in to the Altamar hotel and looked around - i must say all was good. The hotel is on the hill, with the nice view on the ocean, the entertainment team were good, especially Gaza and Alicija, so many thanks to them. The evening shows were quite late, with very short kids mini disco, nonetheless my daughter and I enjoyed them. Food was good for the 3 star hotel. Special thank you to the chef, who made absolutely amazing paella for 2 lunches when i told him we are leaving on Friday and paella was planned for Saturday. So that mas very nice attitude. Staff were friendly in general. Rooms were spacious and had all we needed, nice terrace with the room as well, so we had lots of our own space. Kitchen fully equipped even with the coffee machine. Now the pools, there are 3 of them, and we did find one with the 1.0m deep on one end so used it throughout. Taxi to the beach was around 3 Eu, taxi to Angry Birds Center and to the Bus station around 4Eu. Europa Shopping Center was 5 min walk away. In general it was a nice relaxing stay, I would go there again for the same price for sure.
The best thing about my stay was...Nice relaxed atmosphere, sea view and paella :-)

The hotel has a very nice location is built on a cliff, below the beautiful Amadores beach, the hotel is only a few minutes by car from Peurto Rico. We were there in early June and so the weather was fine. The rooms are with terraces with beautiful views, drinks in all inclusive pretty cool;-) Food very tasty. There are two swimming pools and two solar terraces . Evening from Monday to Saturday entertainment in the form of various performances. The downside is very slow elevator and paid internet (wifi reception in the lobby is free)
The best thing about my stay was...very cool place
