Santa Catarina hotel
Excellent service restaurant bar and pool. Room was very large massive bed and everywhere was spotless with usual extras of bath robes slippers bath excessories. Breakfast was excellent. Did not use the spa. This hotel oozes class and character. Also excellent value for money.. Maybe tea/coffee tray in the room would give it a 10 score. If you need to eat out there is super restaurant just past the spa 100 meters and many more at the harbour via the underpass 300 meters.
The best thing about my stay was...Everything

Truly 5 star experience
Brian Newman, Ireland
Hotel in the most beautiful of settings, A very well located hotel with easy access to taxis, bus routes ( even the open top- bus tour stops outside) and within walking access to beach and city centre. The entire experience of staying here, the service, the cleanliness, the beauty of the premises are truly 5 star. The food and drink are excellent and very good value. The spa also matches the hotels standards in service and friendliness. An amazing place to stay in an amazing city!
The best thing about my stay was...The beautiful building and the great service

Great breakfasts and attractive spa
Jill Bailey, London
Very good hotel - lovely gardens - good spa (free for guests), decent service, and great breakfasts. My only winge is that as a single person in a double room I got a small dark room at the back with no view, and ended up paying nearly as much as a couple. Inevitable and age-old discrimination perhaps? The location would not be ideal for some people as it is a 40 minute walk into the shops in the centre of Las Palmas and a 40 minute walk to the beach...however on holiday I had the time, so it was good exercise!
The best thing about my stay was...Open cafe /verandah in front of bar

B & B good, but evening meals unsatisfactory
David Prichard, Petersfield
Had superior room with huge balcony overlooking attractive garden-just perfect. The main downside to our visit to what must the best hotel in Las Palmas (?) was that the evening meals did not start until 8'30pm and the menu lacked variety and worse of all vegetables, the latter, even when odered, did not turn up, so the meal ended up being protien + bread rolls!! There were no open restaurants that we could find in the area, so had to travel for evening meal by bus/taxi after the disappointing first night experience at the hotel. Frankly, the hotel now seems to focus on the conference buisness rather than on tourism, so, despite its grandeur, could not really recommend it, unless one is addicted to eating out elsewhere.
The best thing about my stay was...The balcony and view from it.

quality hotel,in top ten in gran canaria
johny g, Blackheath
good hotel, good service, good breakfast, as good as the raddison chain. rooms may seem dated, but this is a business hotel,no lager louts, tatoos or union jack waving morons. excellent room service, club sandwich to die for, mind your cholesterol levels ! If you like hot chocolate before bub byes, i promise this will be the best you`ve ever had. Two flasks delivered to your room, one melted chocolate, one whisked hot milk. mmmmm. Excellent beach ten min walk. Walk out of hotel, turn left, pass B.P petrol station on left. cry at the half price petrol price, yes 65p a litre, then cross road at lights, down slope to beach, ir is rare to see more than 40 people on this beach. lovely lazy days. Hotel has a superb gym, good resturant, good waiters. second visit, third to be booked soon.
The best thing about my stay was...Stress free hotel. well run.

Good hotel for quiet city break
Andrew Mager, Haywards Heath
A very pleasant hotel for those looking for a quiet break in Las Palmas. There was some noise from a neighbouring property one night. The staff immediately moved me into a quieter room without hesitation. There is a free shuttle to the beach every day which is useful as the hotel is some 15 mins away. One gripe - although the rest of the breakfast was good the cooked items were cold and had clearly been left standing for some time.
The best thing about my stay was...Helpful staff

Review of 'Santa Catalina'
Penny Mellor, London, England
Excellent hotel if you want a peaceful, beautiful hotel away from the high rise beaches. The bedrooms are lovely, mine was on the first floor with a wooden balcony above the gardens, with trees outside the window in the park below. It has a calm atmosphere in the public rooms. Breakfast was very good - choice of hot and cold foods, with a special cake for 'pudding' if you can manage it. There is a spa centre just outside the main hotel, with indoor and outdoor pools. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I shouldn't really have any complaints, but if pushed to mention something, I found the bed rather hard and would have preferred a duvet to tightly-wrapped sheets and blankets. There was no option of vegetarian 'sausages' for breakfast, which would have been good. I found the piano playing in the bar in the evening really annoying and would have liked a more quiet place. I was disappointed that Canary Island wines were not on the normal bar list, only rather standard Spanish wines that we get in England. These might have been available, but the bar staff didn't speak much English and my Spanish wasn't good enough to explain what I wanted. The hotel location is a bus ride away from many other parts of Las Palmas, including the bus station to visit other parts of the island. Having mentioned these, they didn't spoil my stay at the hotel and I would definitely go back there (as soon as I can) as I really enjoyed my visit to Las Palmas and was very glad I chose this hotel.
