Central to the West End and great for what we needed. Problem at present due to tram works outside so have to drag cases fair distance from car park. Staff helpful and well informed about area.
The best thing about my stay was...Distance from Princes Street

Central - Clean - Cheapish - Friendly staff
Terence Swarbrick, Barrow-In-Furness
Made to feel very welcome from the start. Staff gave me lots of tip of where go and what to do with my time in the City. I needed to get to a venue, the staff organised all my transport.
The best thing about my stay was...Friendly Staff

Cheap and Cheerful - good location
Laraine Horrocks, Yeovil
Good location off Princes Street with a lovely selection of bars around. However this is the opposite end to the Royal Mile so a good walk to get there! Staff werent the most cheerful at check in - but we seemed to be given the breakfast box the next morning whic we did not request or pay for! We had a room at the front of the hotel - but did not hear any noise from outside. Edinburgh is a beautifil city and I am planning to go back in a couple of weeks - however I will be booking a hotel situated in the Old Town area instead of here next time. Enjoy your stay!
The best thing about my stay was...Good bars with lovely food and live music close to the hotel

Very friendly staff however would have been nice to have some fresh air.
Alison Morgan, Glasgow
Window didnt open in room, room quite stuffy and damp smell. Bed comfy however, room quiet, staff so very friendly. Location very good.

Good location, adequate accomodation for touring Edinburgh
David Taylor, Coatbridge
The room was quite basic but clean and tidy. It provided a good base for touring Edinburgh. Our stay was let down however due to our room ( 404 ) was the nearest room to the lift shaft and being at the top of the hotel, therefore nearest to the lift generator/motor which seemed to be right above our heads. This only became apparent when the hotel was quiet ie. we were woken at 6.30am each morning by the sound of people starting to use the lift again and it was like having a tumble dryer in our room! So we didn't get much sleep!! I'M SURE THIS PROBLEM WOULD ONLY OCCUR IN THIS ONE ROOM, so we were unlucky to get this room. As the Travelodge was at capacity we couldn't be moved to another room. Someone setting off the fire alarm one night at 3.35am, by accident, didn't help much either. So we had little sleep on our stay for my wifes surprise 40th birthday trip, which marred our experience slightly.
The best thing about my stay was...Good base for touring Edinburgh

We had a fabulus time in Edinburgh and the hotel was superbly located to Princess street and access to all local amenities and shop's I have only one criticism of the hotel which i was not aware of at time of booking and it is that there are insufficient wardrobes to put your clothe's. In all of the rooms our group occuppied in one there was only 1 small wardrobe with 2/3 hangers and in the other 2 room's there were no wardrobes at all only 5 hooks on a wall by the side of the bed where you could hang your clothe's. So beware if you have a suitcase full of clothe's they will spend most of the time in the case. Otherwise the staff were excellent friendly and the hotel was worth the money considering it's location against other hotel's in the area.

Arrived late at hotel due to 5hr delay at Cardiff Airport. No problem! Rooms were basic, clean & tidy. Breakfast was cooked fresh, with plenty of choice to eat & drink. All staff were very friendly and approachable, nothing to much for them. Location was great, bus stopped right outside, for conection to airport. Two minutes you are well into Prince street. We will be returning there next year, great value for money

Value for money
David Shepherd, Cornwall
Location of hotel is excellent for city and transport stops right outside.Room adequate but did smell slightly which explains the plug in air freshener.Breakfast was freshly cooked but service lacked some management and some days quick service and others long wait bar staff all very friendly and helpful. It was value for money but would probably go up market next time.

We must have had the smallest room in the hotel. If we were staying one night it might have been OK, especially as it only had a single wardrobe, but as we were there for 5 nights, it was too small. There was not enough room to put up wet umbrellas to dry, even the bath was small! Breakfast was hot but adequate, the staff were friendly and helpful. I would not stay there again though.

Wedding Anniversary Trip
Iain and Debbie Stavert, Kendal
Hi, we found the location brilliant for everthing, the hotel was clean, and our room was ok, with a nice bay window. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was ok, the only minus point was the coffee. We both drink black coffee, and felt this was not up to reasonable standard. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfectly positioned for sight- seeing with city tour buses a few mins walk away. Shanwick Place runs into main shopping Street and Airport bus drops you outside front door. Have coffee/lunch in Cornestone Restaurant at St. Johns Church on Corner of S. Place. Inside Hotel it is comfortable/ clean/good breakfast. Staff very friendly. Only downside we forgot our Irish tea.

The location is fantastic, in seconds you are in the heart of Edinburgh and the aiport bus stops right outside it. Actually arrived a year early, I made a mistake in booking and the hotel staff were very accommodating. Room was clean and breakfast was hearty. I would stay there again next time I go to Edinburgh

This hotel is in an excellent location, at end of Princess St. Great for sight seeing. room ok for size ( no 414). very quiet room at back of hotel, bathroom nice and clean. breakfast ok, a bit chaotic at times as room split in 2 and everybody getting own coffee, cereal, juice, etc and falling over each other. twice we were offered more toast but it never appeared, slightly unorganised. staff were very pleasant. never used the bar, but the toilets there were not very nice. i would stay at this hotel again because of the location.

Reception was very bright and clean, our room was small but adequate enough for a 1 night stay but not in a very good part of the hotel as we kept getting this terribly loud noise every so often (think it was every time other residents switched on their bathroom lights and the extractor fans came on. The room in question was 415 so avoid this room if you can if you want a good night's sleep. The breakfast was okay but it took them a while to get to us with anything ordered. Great location, very handy but we weren't told we would have to use an NCP car park, which incurred additional expense.
