The best thing about my stay was

West Midlands

Excellent Value for money

We stayed October half term at the cala d'or gardens on a budget holiday. We were extremely pleased with the accommodation for what we paid. The rooms were clean and spacious. There was a great choice of food which was available until 10.30pm and drinks on the all inclusive available both in the restaurant and bar areas. The town was a short walk away. Would definitely stay again.

Very decent 3 star stay

We had a nice room in this aparthotel and the food was very good at dinner. The rooms were attended every day and the cleaners kept the rest of this place very clean. There are two good sized pools but the sunbeds are flat and not covered. The bars and restaurants are only 2 mins away as the entertainment here is not suitable for most.

think twice before book

stayed for 2 weeks at block 3,between July and August. Rooms:the worst thing during the Summer holiday is poor air condition(outside 40 degree) and this was the case here, the air condition was barely blowing,it wasn't written anywhere that the air condition worked from 6pm to 6am and straight away at 7am my whole family was awoken as the room turned into a sauna. Block 3 and 4 is facing the sun all day. The size of the room and bathroom were okay, cleaned every day! Food: plenty of choice but every day it was the same, you could also predict what was going to be for each meal. after a week you have enough of the food but you don't go hungry! Delicious cakes and fruit all in all-inclusive, we upgraded from half board to all-inclusive as it was worth it as the food prices in cala egos restaurants were very high, 12-15 euro for a meal for one person. Swimmingpol:large and clean, many people have already review the pool. Cala Egos Beach: very close. very small. very dirty. You swim beside a drain pipe which disposes rubbish from the streets into the beach(disgusting!!!). Entrance to the beach is a small path built on the drain pipes, there are grids in the path and you can see inside the pipes and it really stinks!! I'm not fussy but I've seen 10 different Cala's and none looked like this one! The most beautiful beaches were cala mondrago, cala d'or,cala gran and cala barca! We had to get a taxi to cala d'or so that we could swim in clean water and this costed around 6 euro. We bought a starfish Glass bottom boat trip 4 people for €60(don't book at hotels the prices are higher than in the town),we got to see all the beautiful cala's and the view was beautiful, the glass bottom was small and you couldn't see anything as the water was full air bubbles from the engine. Trip to Aqualand: bought a trip in the town €160 for 4 people. you have 6 hours in the park, in which we only got to go on slides 8 times but only on the ones which had less people in the cue or didn't require to wait for a ring, you waited 40 mins for a ring and 1 hour to get down the blackhole!!! aqualand never again in the school break!!!! $ years ago I was in Alcudia and was in Aqualand aswell and the cue's were normal and also there were no ring for rent, yes yes!! you heard me right Aqualand decided to make even more money, single ring €8 and €12 for a double ring. You don't have to rent the rings but that means you will wait in the cue for 40 mins. Temperature: was around 40, for me it felt hotter than in Egypt!! Think twice before you decide to go in the summer, it's okay but you have to into the water quite often, that means that you can forget about walking around the town, and forget about walking to cala d'or as some people say it's a 20 minute walk, but with kids it's 1 hour walk and you feel like in a sauna. Overall:hotel okay for people who's it is first time travelling abroad! I'll come back to Mallorca but to Colonia st. Jordi(as it is over there like in Bali Islands) or Natural Park of Mondrago(3 different cala's in one place)

The best thing about my stay was The staff

Jarrow

6/10 Good

pleasant stay with very good staff

all hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. a few more sun beds and parasols needed when the hotel is full. small beer cups a big disappointment as it's rare to see drunkenness on all inclusive stays in our experience. Bar staff brilliant. entertainment staff worked very hard and put on some good shows .kids seemed to love the kids club. If you a light sleeper ask for a room away from the restaurant. food ok

Fab stay

Just arrived back beginning of August after a week at Cala D'Or Gardens. Can't fault the cleanliness of the hotel and pool area. Food is good and something there to meet everyone's choice. Majority of staff friendly although bar staff could be grumpy at times. Entertainment ok for small children but could be boring for adults and quite difficult to get a seat for entertainment in evening as all outdoors. Drinks finished bring served at 11. Weather fantastic, location of hotel superb and generally a great holiday had by all 8 of us

Great Staff, Brilliant Entertainment Team. Loved it!

We have just returned from Club Cala d'Or, it was brilliant. I have two children aged 5 and 11 and both had a wonderful time. So like many parents if your children are happy your happy. My thanks goes to all the hard working staff from the cleaner who cleaned our room thoroughly every day with fresh sheets and towels, to the food and bar staff who always had a smile and nothing was ever too much to the entertainments team who made our holiday so enjoyable. Thank you Imelda (Tommy & Oliver's Mummy)

Good Hotel rooms, Lovely pool area

We had a lovely week. Originally booked half board but was offered AL for an extra 10 euros a day which was great value. Food was good, plenty of choice of fish, meat dishes and always fresh salad. The beach was just a few minites walk away. We were initially worried that it would be noisy a night time due to the entertainment being held just below our room but everything stopped at 11pm so it wasn't a problem. A great hotel for families.

Good hotel

We have just returned from the Cala d'Or Gardens following a weeks stay. The hotel was very clean and staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms are basic but clean, the only disappointment being that there wasn't a hairdryer which has been provided in hotels I have stayed in over the last few years and I now thought was standard but this was a minor detail. The beds are a little hard with thin pillows so we asked for extra ones, which appeared within a couple of hours. We stayed all inclusive, the food was excellent at every meal with plenty of choice. The bar staff dealt with the slight queues that built up for drinks very efficiently, and 1 or more drink was served if asked for. The evening entertainment was adequate for children but very poor for adults so we went out to the nearest bars in the evenings. Towels were left on sunbeds from breakfast as normal but we could always find some around the pool, whenever we arrived. Overall, a lovely holiday.

Enjoyable stay - definitely recommend

Very clean hotel, good maid service with towels changed regularly. Nice pool with good sized children's area. Lots of sun beds and plenty of shade from the trees if you don't get a sun shade. The animation team kept the children entertained throughout the day and then put on a show for all in the evening. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. Some areas of the hotel are a little 'tired' and our room was fairly basic but we hadn't paid a lot and was very good value. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you have children. It suits all ages, couples and families, but there are no lifts so if stairs are a problem ask for a ground floor room. All facilities are on the ground floor. Would definitely like to return again.

The best thing about my stay was Room serviced everyday

Buntingford

You get what you pay for!!

Myself and my wife have just returned from a weeks stay at Cala D'or Gardens, this hotel is very basic and is in need of refurbishment (see our rooms pictures). We stayed in block two which over looked the hotel in front, the room was extremely noisy with transfers arriving during the night and lorries driving up and down the road infront of our room, block two is also where the reception is and this also makes the room very noisy. We booked half board but only ate at the restaurant on our first night, the food is very basic and of poor quality with not a great selection. Our air conditioning did not work and we did ask to move after our first uncomfortable night but the hotel was apparently full!! The entertainment in the hotel was very basic and typical for this type of hotel! The one good thing was the room was serviced everyday. The hotel is in cala Egos and NOT Cala D'or, it is a short taxi ride 6euro into Cala D'or.

Good value accommodation in good location for beach and shops

This is a great value hotel. Rooms are standard but clean. Food is good quality and more varied than some other hotels we have stayed in. Hotel is next to Cala Egos beach and a few minutes walk from shops/bars. Bus and mini train stops are outside hotel so easy to go on day trips. Cala D'or is about 40 minute walk around the marina. Would stay again.

The best thing about my stay was Food, location cleanliness

Liverpool

Brilliant

We have just returned from our weeks stay at Club Cala d'or Gardens and must say what a lovely hotel. We arrived at about 1.00 p.m. and although our room wasn't quite ready (you vacate your room at 12 noon) we were directed to the dining room for our lunch. After lunch our room was then ready. All the rooms face the central triangle (we over looked the dining room across the piazza - not a problem). The hotel itself is very grand when you arrive and there were comments on the coach when we were approaching that they wished they were staying here. The rooms were good, had everything we needed for a weeks stay and as the hotel is set on only 2 floors we didn't have to wait around for lifts, just up 2 flights of stairs. We had maid service every day and fresh towels provided daily. (I would take an extra towel though as the towels were a bit on the small side). The food is really really good, it was plentiful and really well cooked and there was an enormous choice. Once lunch was over, the dining room closed and the immediately they were serving pizza, burgers, chips, hotdogs so you would not starve at all. The entertainment guys worked non stop, really friendly etc. We stayed here with our 12½ year son and he could take part in a variety of things to do. The pool area is really lovely and although there was quite a lot of young children they were mostly in the in kids pool which is separated by a very deep pool. The main pool is the top pool which has two huge water fountains which are turned on perhaps every hour for about 10-15 mins - quite a nice sight, and even though the hotel was completely full we always found somewhere to park ourselves. (I did have to get up at 8.00 a.m. though to grab 3 sun beds - they are chained up over night and the chains come off at around 8.00 ish). We walked to Cala D'Or one day and it took us about 40 mins, we went round the Marina which was lovely to see all the very expensive boats there. We were pleased where our hotel was, it was quiet and not as busy as Cala D'Or. Cala Egos has pretty much everything you want but if you were an older teenagers/20's you may be a bit bored as there isn't much night life for you There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this hotel and we will go back again.

Leamington Spa

6/10 Good

Good value, decor a little dated.

The room was clean and adequate and the service was fine. The food was plentiful and seemed to carter for most tastes. The outside decor of the Hotel and reception area looks in a poor state of repair and does present the Hotel in a good light. The pool area and gardens are very nice. We visited in early July and the Hotel was occupied by 90% German holidaymakers, but that was not a problem, other than the evening entertainment was poor. All in all , a good holiday for the price.

The best thing about my stay was Air Con in the rooms.

Liverpool

8/10 Great

excellent accomodation

Excellent accomodation. rooms basic but very clean, air con was superb as the temp at night was 24+. pool side superb, plenty of sunbeds available although you did have to secure yours by 8:30 am with towels as the germans were there in mass. Food plentyfull but as the week went by became a bit too much. Overall a very pleasant stay, would recomend Club Cala d'Or Gardens.

The best thing about my stay was Swimming Pools, Mondrago National Park

Sheffield

6/10 Good

Good Value for Money Hotel

We got what we expected from this hotel, basic accommodation, basic food and some good entertainment. The real plus was the swimming pools, which are some of the best I can remember, having grass around the edges to lay on and a really nice setting. All the hotel staff were very friendly and always happy to help with queries. The location was pretty good, a couple of minutes to the small cove and the small resort of Cala Egos. Cala D'or itself is about a 20 - 25 minute walk away, past the lovely harbour or you can take the little train which stops outside the hotel or a taxi for 5.50 euros. Around the pool it was a lot noisier than we were expecting - with games and music being played everyday, sometimes you just wanted some peace and quiet but generally it was good entertainment for all ages, playing water volleyball, water polo, aqua aerobics, dancing, oh and ice cube spitting (not as bad as it sounds). This hotel has many nationalities as guests - Italians, Germans, Dutch, French, Spanish etc. so if you want to be in a Brit based hotel then don't go here as you are in the minority, we personally quite like the different mixes. All the beaches around this area are very small coves which become very busy very quickly. The largest are at Mondrago, this is a national park about 10 mins away on a bus(outside hotel), which is 2.55 euros return. Here are 2 larger bays in a beautiful setting with pine trees etc. Again these become busy quite quickly, especially at the weekends. The charges for the sunbeds and parasols were also quite expensive as well at 12 euros for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. All in all I thought it was decent accomodation for what you pay, although it could do with some money spending updating it.

The best thing about my stay was The staff, weather was not great and they made so much effort to try and make the stay good.

Selby North Yorkshire

We liked it!

The hotel was very clean, rooms were basic, two beds, portable TV, wardrobe, balcony had table and two chairs, bathroom a bit dated, comfortable lounge areas, plenty of sunbeds didn't have to get up at stupid o clock to reserve one, coming back at 2pm still able to get a sunbed! Not many channels on TV only English one was Sky news. Staff were excellent very friendly, helpful, dealt with issues (TV was not working) immediately, reception printed e flight ticket off, entertainment staff very polite and pleasant made an effort to talk to everyone everyday. Entertainment not great, mini disco daily, but very small team just two of them so main show was e.g. line dancing, disco night, bingo night, but better than nothing. Bar staff excellent. Food was OK, always hot and fresh but quite basic, chips, pasta, fish, chicken, pork, salad buffet, desert selection, plain but never a night when we couldn't find anything to eat. Typical breakfast full English with add ons, cereal, continental, fruit, cakes. Nice resort right next to a small cove, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in local area which is Cala Egos, noddy train to Cala Dor. Overall the complex was clean, food fresh, service very good and as a fussy Brit yes I would stay there again.

Nice hotel, good location

Check in was quick and easy, hotel was very clean. Pool area was nice and we had no problem getting sunbeds. Room was nice, we stayed in block 7 but we sometimes had a funny smell in the bathroom, we were only there for the weekend so werent too worried about it My son stayed in the same block and had no problem so it may have been just our room. Food was ok, good selection of meat and fish, with salad bar available at all meals Ice cream available at lunch and dinner times along with fruit and deserts. Snack bar had burgers, sausages, nuggets and chips throughout the day with cakes in the afternoon Tea and coffee available from bar along with a good selection of alcoholic drinks. We met friends outside the hotel in the evening so not sure what the entertainment was like
