Rooms need revamped
Phil T, Edinburgh
Our room, number 14 was clean but very much in need of an upgrade. Damp smell when you opened the door, lights in front seating area never worked, but the beds were comfy. Grounds clean and well maintained. Main shops and bars only a 10 min stroll away. Would come back to see what the refurbed rooms look like.
The best thing about my stay was...Location nice and quiet

Excellent value for money and very friendly
John, Birkenhead, UK
I was pleasantly surprised with this place. I arrived very laste but the staff were still very helpful. This continued throughout my stay at E Guarapo. The in-house eating place was particularly excellent, the food AND the service.
The best thing about my stay was...Someone once wrote in this section, EVERYTHING, I have to agree.

John Duncan, Aberdeen
Going back for fourth time in two weeks time.We have been all over the world but getting fed up with long haul.Found Guarapo on internet and think it is just what we need.Near beach ,shops and great walks.Lovely place for relaxing and Antonio and Adella run a great restaurant on site with very good prices. You meet very friendly other guests and soon you are enjoying the craick ,especially in the evenings. The staff are so friendly, with Hanna in reception a lovely person once you and she get to know each other .The cleaners are also very nice as is the other Antonio the handyman. They are very helpful It is very central for shops and very good restaurants with all tastes cratered for. Please do not start going here, you may take up our space !!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely gardens & Pool
Having been to Lanzarote about 19 times, usually stay at Oasis Lanz apartments but the reviews on trip advisor didn't seem very good, so booked El Guarapo. This is a strange set up. Arrived on the Saturday and reception closed and couldn't get into the complex. eventually another resident came along and let us in with her key. Told by Antonio at the snack bar to go to room 4 and keys for the apartment were on the table! Reception would be open the next day for a few hours and we could sort out safe key. I had emailed the complex specifically requesting 1st floor apartment but had no response to my enquiry. We were given a ground floor room at the end of the block which had no sun so very disappointing. Asked next day to be moved but was told that wasn't possible as fully booked! The lady at reception is as helpful as she wants to be, but is VERY brusque and abrupt in her manner. Made us feel like guilty children when we asked her anything. This is a very clean complex with a lovely pool and gardens. Only problem was the bathroom drains stank. It was quite terrible and had to keep spraying with air freshener. The smell got worse when using the shower. The shower was also really naff - hanging off the wall and no pressure. Tried having a bath but only filled up with a couple of inches of water before water came out cold. The rooms are also not sound proofed. They are very noisy. We could hear a baby crying who was in an apartment 4 along from us. The girls upstairs from us sounded like elephants walking around and we could hear their conversations. There appeared to be many retired couples who are renting rooms for few weeks at a time. I also think there are people who live on the complex too. It was really odd. There are some really beautiful cats living there. I was shocked there was a beautiful Siamese & a rag doll cat, both with ultra Blue eyes which seemed to be strays! Unbelievable that these cats don't belong to anyone as they cost a fortune to buy in the UK! Snack bar by pool is very cheap for breakfast & lunch and the food is very good. Seemed to be busy in the evenings too although we didn't eat there at night. The complex is a bit further from the main bars than Oasis Lanz, which was a little disappointing. Come out of complex and a little walk down road to a turning that leads through a park. Probably walk 10mins from there to get to the Spar & bars & restaurants. Not too far really. The weather was very overcast on our 8 days stay so very little to do. We did hire a car as my partner had not been to Lanzarote before so I took him to the main sights. I love Lanzarote so was just pleased to be back on this lovely island. Probably wouldn't use this complex again though, but it's certainly not the worse I've stayed in. PS - No kids pool!

Perfect.Great position. Excellent value.
Catherine Rosewell, Swansea
I am delighted I have found El Guarapo. Its position is in a quiet residential street yet only 5 minutes walk to the centre of town and 2 minute walk to San Bastion beach. It is small, only 50 odd apartments, but still very private feel, not all on top of each other. The apartments are spotless and the maid came in every other day. Some write-ups may suggest the decor is a little dated but really I think that is nit-picking. The price is so reasonable and represents excellent value. Antonio runs the modest restaurant. Prices are great value for money for breakfast, snacks and dinner -- there is no point in cooking! Diners in the evening may well be Brits who live there or people who are staying at other premises. The service and great value ensures he has a real loyal following. Antonio serves great food straight off the menu but does a selection of dishes that can be ordered the day before. Go for this if poss. He does a chateaubriand, a leg of lamb and a pork and crackling joint that would cost a bomb in the U.K. and some beautiful whole fish plates too, plus more Canarian dishes like paella. This year the chateaubriand was only 17 euros for two! Beautifully cooked. Coudn't be faulted. Before I have stayed three times at Playa Blanca and was surprised to find I liked Costa Teguise better. Much easier to walk around -- more sense of a centre yet 2 mins from the main beach, Cucharas, and all the bars and eateries. There is a great choice, something to suit everyone. For snack lunch I liked Villa Toledo, converted to a restaurant/cafe, just next to San Bastion beach. Very good sandwiches served with a bit more style and garnishes than others -- Mojitos were great and one lasts ages. View is directly over the sea and then short stroll home. I am definitely rebooking. I am going to go for 4 - 6 weeks if poss in Feb/March next year. Many of their guests are returners who commonly stay for 8-10 weeks. There is a nice atmosphere and I found if you wanted company there were plenty of nice guests whose company I enjoyed. It's civilised; there are younger people too but no-one is making a racket. Very peaceful, secure -- just what I wanted.
The best thing about my stay was...Relaxing, good service, good food, peaceful.

Another enjoyable stay
Peter Cole, Huddersfield
Just back from our 4th visit to these apartments. Accommodation is always clean. Towels changed regularly, sheets once a week. All staff are very friendly and willing to help, Antonio in charge of maintaince is always on hand and will fix most faults immediatly. The restaurant run by another Antonio and his wife has good well priced food and he will cook anything asked for and ordered the previous evening. The pool is always clean but too cold for us, some brave souls give it a go.
The best thing about my stay was...Eating in Antonio's restaurant, making new and meeting old friends in there.

Having stayed here before, I knew what to expect. Handy for everywhere and staff are all very pleasant. It is in a quiet location, but only five minutes away from everywhere - beach, restaurants and entertainment areas. Lovely clean apartment with everything you need (apart from a decent corkscrew!!). Pool still very cold. Hope to go back again next year.
The best thing about my stay was...Meeting friends - old and new.

Clean, tidy and friendly
Paul Lynn, Galway,Ireland
Only problem was we arrived on a Sat and reception was closed, we had to wait until resturant opened at 7pm to get the keys sorted, phone number on door to call but goes to a Spanish voicemail. Apart from that all good, recently decorated apartments, cleaned regularly with clean towel and linen. 5 min walk to beach or centre. Good value good food from the ever cheerfull Anthonio. Would go again
The best thing about my stay was...Quiteness
