Simply perfect ❤️
Karen johnson, Staffordshire, england
Fabulous! Nikos and Denise , well, what can I say apart from very lovely people. They, along with all of the staff make every single guest so very welcome. My room was clean and had everything inc air con that I needed, the food was absolutely lovely! Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served in a buffet style. There was a very very good selection of hot and cold food, desserts and fresh fruit. The two pools were kept to a high standard as was the pool area. The pool bar provided a brilliant service from 10am through til 11pm, inc ice creams and snacks. Kardamena is around a 45 minute walk along the beach, buses run regularly should you not want to walk or taxis are available. There was nothing what so ever I myself could fault, amazing people. Lovey hotel, very relaxed, just perfect, thank you nikos, Denise and all of your staff for making me so welcome and giving me a fabulous holiday..... I will most definitely be going back to evripides village !!

Nice place, not so nice hotel
Russell Sears, Dunstable
The resort of Kardamena is fantastic and this was one thing that kept us going during the holiday. The Evripides hotel was clean but basic and having booked half board was expecting reasonable meals... not the case. Breakfast was very basic. Tea, toast and dry cake was all, apart from a huge bowl of white yoghurt and syrup which the Russians seemed to relish. Kept running out of cups, bread, plates, butter, spoons and just about everything had to to be sought from elsewhere as only one table with a 4 slice toaster served the entire hotel. Breakfast waitress was very rude and refused to get butter one morning because I was 'too late', despite having been down for breakfast 10 mins before the 9.30am deadline. Long queue every morning for the toaster. You need to be well organised and determined to get anything. My wife gave up after 2 mornings but I saw it as a challenge and kept going despite the drawbacks. Lots of Russians and Italians in the hotel who don't like to queue and prefer to jump in front and grab your toast... so watch for that. I complained to the receptionist about the rude waitress and she said the owner would speak to me. He didn't. Brushed under the carpet as with everything else that was reported. Kettle literally blew up on day 2 as the lead was frayed. Sparks and loud bang took the power out. Went to reception and was told all the kettles do that and no, they were not being replaced. Had to boil water on the stove in a small saucepan for the remaining holiday. Evening meal was a lottery. No menu, no choice and no way of finding out what was on until it was served up. On the whole the evening meal was of good quality but you had no choice so if you liked it then OK, but if you didn't you were off to Kardamena to find a restaurant, of which there are plenty. No drinks available with dinner so if you want one you have to go to the pool bar first. Drinks overpriced at the bar and very unorganised staff. You want a coffee you have to wait for the kettle to boil as it is all quite primitive. Air conditioned rooms but it costs extra for the remote to be able to use it. 5 euro a day plus a 10 euro deposit for the remote or you have to suffer the heat. We had a couple of days when the water for a shower was cold. Once it is used it is not available until the solar power system heats the exchanger again. The pool area is very nice overlooking the mountains and close to the sea, but many of the sun loungers were broken. Went to play pool at the bar and found the cue was broken (no tip). Then decided to play table tennis but the net was held in place with a dinner knife and would not stay up. It would not take a lot of effort to make this a fantastic holiday experience but nobody there is bothered and you are not treated as a guest or anyone special at all. In all its too much of an effort for staff to get anything and most people seem to give up after a few days. Would I go back? Yes, to Kardamena definitely, but I would only go back to the Evripides if I couldn't get in elsewhere and if I did it would be on a room only basis as I prefer the restaurants in Kardamena and the less contact with staff the better. They say Kardamena 2.5km away but that is to the nearest point. The restaurants are mostly the other side and unless you are a used to walking in desert heat you need a car, a scooter or a taxi. We rented a scooter from 'on yer bike' (fantastic!) only 12 Euro a day for a 50cc. You can also rent quads and bigger bikes which are more expensive. Everyone seems to be on a scooter or a quad and it is fun to get around.
The best thing about my stay was...Kerdamena, hiring a scooter and travelling the island

Another Fantastic holiday at Evripides
Karen, Tunbridge Wells
This is my second holiday at the Evripides Hotel and it was another FANTASTIC holiday. I would definitely recommend this hotel/apartments if you are looking for a family run value for money holiday. A big thank you to Nikos, Denise and Uri for looking after us so well. A bit about the hotel: Rooms - basic but they have everything you need and are clean and very spacious. You can pay for air conditioning which I would recommend as it is very warm at night. You can request self catering equipment if needed but we didn't as it’s the last thing I want to do on holiday - instead you can purchase all you need in the way of food and drink at the bar. All rooms have a balcony as far as I am aware, and the views are lovely. Bar - by the pool and outside which is great - Uri is the best barman and looks after you - serving great cocktails and shots. One night we drank them out of red bull but Uri made sure more was delivered for the following night!! That's service! You can also buy food all day and evening from the bar at reasonable cost - poor Denise had her work cut out when the 12 of us all bowled down wanting full English breakfasts every morning! Delicious though every time! And you must try the Greek salad! Every Tuesday and Friday Nikos does a BBQ which is highly recommended - there is loads of food and all of it delicious - and if you are veggie they cater for you too. Followed by Karaoke - not everyone’s choice but great fun and gets everyone at the hotel to know each other. Location - The hotel is set in a great location - it sits under a beautiful mountain and is just across from the sea. You are only a short bus or taxi ride to the busy town of Kardamena which has great bars and restaurants. I highly recommend you visit Avli, Yianni's, Nemo's and Captains to name but a few. There are loads of restaurants down there and all very good value for money. Also visit bar street if you like partying and there's Downtown which is an 80's club and great fun. I could go on but all I will say is to those that have posted bad comments - you really must have too much time on your hands - all I would say is that if anyone has any problems just tell Nikos or Denise and they would sort it straight away. I will definitely be returning for a third time next year for another great holiday I am positive!
The best thing about my stay was...Family run hotel who look after you so well - I will definately be back next year!

Best thing was the swimming pool
Kay Renwick, Thurrock
The location was a long walk from Kardamena and most people used a taxi to go back and forth. There was a charge to call for a taxi. We hired a car to get around so this wasn't an issue. The drinks were expensive and the food basic to say the least. The room did have a sea view but again was basic and there were problems with the shower which took them two days to sort out. The bed was also very hard which I didn't get used to even though we were there for two weeks. I did like the pool which was a lovely place to cool off after a hot day elsewhere. There was nothing to do in the evening and most people went into town.
The best thing about my stay was...The wonderful swimming pool

Evripides 14-21 august 2008
The room was basic, but for the price that we paid was ok! The village is nice, with a large swimming pool and a beautiful garden! I reccomend you to rent a car or a moto because the centre is a little far and the most beautiful baech (15 minutes by car) as well, anyway there's a bus station in front of the village! Just a last information, If you're gonna reach the village by yourself you have to know that it's very difficult to find it because there isn't any indication.
