Expo Hotel - Barcelona - Good hotel in a great location
Graeme Sutherland, Ayr, Scotland
Stayed here eight years ago and if anything is better now. Cant understand some of the negative reviews. Rooms are not luxurious but are comfortable with the added bonus of a balcony which is quite rare in Barcelona. Being on the ninth floor, the views of the city were impressive. Public areas have been well refurbished and reception staff efficient and helpful. Breakfast has a good variety of continental and hot food, served in nice surroundings, with pleasant staff. Virtually next to Barcelona Sants train station.
The best thing about my stay was...Great breakfast available until 11.00am at weekends.

Fabulous Hotel - Highly Recommend!
Snedderella, Dundee, Scotland, UK
Enjoyed a fabulous stay at Expo Barcelona (3-6 Sep 2012). Stayed in Executive Room with fantastic views of Bull Ring (Plaza Espanya), the Art Gallery at Montjuic and the Olympic Stadium. Room and bathroom were spotless - comfortable beds, clean sheets, air-conditioning and toiletries to cater for your every need. Well stocked reasonably-priced minibar. Balcony was lovely for chilling out. Roof top bar with fantastic views over Barcelona - again reasonably priced. Breakfast 8.50 Euros - well worth it as there is a fabulouse choice of cereals, fresh fruits, breads, meats, cheeses, pastries, also Full-English and great coffee. Fill yourself up and you won't need anything to eat again until evening!!! Staff so helpful and welcoming (esp. Antonio L) - gave us great tips on where to go, how to travel and what to see. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and they certainly went out of their way to make our stay a special one (thank you!) Great location across road from Barcelona Sants Railway Station where there are also metro, bus and tourist bus links. (If using Metro, better to use Tarragona Metro station - quieter and equi-distant.) Hotel only 5 mins from Plaza de Catalunya by Metro, or 40 mins walk on foot. Would highly recommend this hotel - we'll definitely stay here again when we return to Barcelona next time. Can't speak highly enough of it. Tip: Buy T10 Ticket at Renfe Station at Airport (9.50 Euros) - this gives you 10 journeys and can be used on the train from the Airport to Barcelona Sants, as well as the bus or metro - the ticket can also be shared (eg 5 journeys each for 2 people).
The best thing about my stay was...Everything - The room, the views, the special touches for our anniversary, the staff (esp Antionio L), the breakfast, the location.....

Stayed for 3 nights with my daughter. Room was clean but quite small, TV very old and had a poor picture, limited channels other than Spanish. Staff very friendly and helpful, excellent language skills. Hotel is well located for transport and the Bus Turistic, plenty of restaurants nearby. Las Arenas 10 minute walk, good shopping centre. traffic wasn't too noisy at night. The best thing by far though was the breakfast - huge choice and excellent quality, you can literally fill up for the day. WiFi is a bit expensive but signal was very good. Would stay here again as location was good but maybe pay for an upgrade.
The best thing about my stay was...The breakfast!

Just returned from a great tween Christmas and New Year break. The hotel position is great two minutes walk from Sants station. The entire hotel is spotless, nice rooms ,good breakfast, friendly staff. There are some nice local bars nearby with very reasonable prices, all the city is easily accessible via the Metro network.Couple of good things to note, directly underneath the hotel is a Hypermarket where you can buy anything you may need at great prices. The hotel also has a free secure left luggage room so you can make the most of the last day.Recommend this hotel, spot on for a city break. We will return. Ron Swain and Family.

2 couples. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights

This is a modern hotel in a great location just 50 mts from Sants Station, [trains and metro]. The staff were courteous and professional. The buffet style breakfast was varied and went on until 11am. The rooms were bright and very clean.
The best thing about my stay was...the location is excellent.

What a delight our stay was at the EXPO Spotlessly clean, staff were very helpful The terrace bar on the top was our favourite for a last drink before retiring to our room, with the soft music and super views over the Montjuic palace and Olympic Stadium.Train Station and Metro almost next door so convienent for getting around. We will be back to the EXPO again to see tht sights we could`n fit in this time. All in all we really enjoyed Barcelona and cant wait until to come back
The best thing about my stay was...The weather and the Expo

Excellent experience. Lovely staff.

Highly recommended. Easy access to bus, rail, metro and tour buses. Staff all really helpful and friendly. Would recommend executive rooms over the standard for more space.
The best thing about my stay was...Friendly staff and convenient location.

Nice hotel and lovely staff
Shirley Southern, Bolton Lancashire
Good value hotel and the staff are very helpful. The breakfast seems a little pricey but if you book at reception it's cheaper and believe you me it is well worth it. The choice is amazing even down to smoked salmon and lemon meringue pie. The hotel is in a fairly quiet area but the area does seem safer than La Ramblas. Please take care on the metro our party had a camera and a wallet stolen and we were extremely careful. Barcelona is a beautiful city but in the tourist areas there is an unpleasent under tone especially in the evenings.
The best thing about my stay was...football match

Short break in Barcelona following cruise
David Taylor, Norwich
We stayed here for a short break following a cruise that ended in Barcelona. We chose the hotel for it's proximity to Sants station and the easy journey from there to the airport. This is a good 4 star hotel with above average size rooms for a city centre hotel. Bedroom facilities were very good and included balcony overlooking the square in front of the station. Buffet breakfast was excellent, good choice of hot and cold items, good fruit, juices etc. Reception were very friendly and helpful, no problem in holding luggage for several hours on our last day. The area, while a little away from the main action has it's own vibe with plenty of small bars and restaurants and is seen as up and coming, there are also excellent metro links to the rest of the city if walking is not your thing.
The best thing about my stay was...Location and breakfast
