short trip to Barcelona with two kids (10 and 13)
You can call me Al, Roden
The hotel looks contemporary. Rooms are comfortable (airco only works with window firmly(1) closed (hot 1st night); temp rises to 32C without and drops to 21C with). Wellness is comfy free and not much used. Breakfast is good - given its price of 12 Eur. / room. Kitchen for snacks is pricy and not well prepared. The hotel is situated in an outskirt of Barcelona (nothing happens on the streets - if you are not particularly interested in moving traffic), so car helps. Going to the beach can be achieved IMHO by car only with help of a TomTom. Parking free on the streets and plenty of spots.
The best thing about my stay was...Parking / relaxed atmosphere / modern / free wellness

Great, modern hotel
Chris Doyle, Leyland
A lovely hotel with modern furnishings. The staff were very friendly, however, spoke very little English. The bedrooms are high-tech and have a stylish design with good facilities. The lighting was ultra-modern, with different colours and many in different parts of the room. It was evident that time had gone into keeping guests entertained and comfortable, as the bedrooms included high-quality audio and visual facilities, along with a few complimentary soft-drinks in the mini-bar. The rooms were also spacious and very clean. We had quite a scenic view from our bedroom, and although there are many roads around the hotel, it was quiet. Unfortunately, Hotel Fira Congress is a drive away from the centre of Barcelona and all it's attractions. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle-bus service; twice in the morning and again in the evening, to and from the city centre. This is however very limited and spaces fill very quickly, as we found and missed out. So reserve your place as soon as possible, the taxis are very costly. A complimentary shuttle-bus service to and from Barcelona's main airport is also available if you phone the hotel upon your arrival, which we found to be quite efficient. The restaurant looked presentable, but was expensive and so I can't comment any more on that. The bar drinks were also expenisve, but that is what I expected. Overall, I was impressed with the hotel.
The best thing about my stay was...The hotel was stylish and comfortable.

Ideal hotel for a pre-cruise stay
Steve Bond, Exeter
Booked two nights at the Fira Congress prior to a cruise from Barcelona as I had a late arrival into Barcelona Airport and the hotel offered a 24 hour shuttle service. On arrival I rang the hotel and was collected very quickly by the hotel mini bus for the short journey to the hotel. The hotel itself is located in an industrial estate opposite a convention centre and close to the Solvassa hotel and the Port Fira hotel. However they operate a shuttle on a limited timetable into the centre of town or you can walk two blocks to the nearest underground station making it very easy to get around. The hotel is decorated in seventies retro chic, which will probably date very quickly but looks nice at the moment. The bedrooms are very modern and have an open bathroom arrangement for the sink and shower, but do have a screen that can be used for privacy if it's friends sharing the room. The following evening I took the shuttle back to the airport to meet my friend and again the service worked very well both to and from the airport. On our departure the hotel organised a taxi for us to the cruiseport, and the cost was only about 25 euros for the journey. The staff were very friendly and helpfull, the breakfast offered a very good choice and I would definatly stay here again if cruising out of Barcelona.
The best thing about my stay was...Airport shuttle

Great one-night stop over
Jayne Wood, Sheffield UK
Got a really good deal with Alpha Rooms - £174 for a double and a triple, airport pick-up and breakfast. Rooms were superb. Quirky. Glass panel to the bathroom!! There was an electric blind to keep your modesty! Lighting very interesting. Lights and switches all over - took a bit of working out - after a week we may have got it sussed - but were only there for one night. Nice wooden floors and very stylish. Triple room though - was just another bed fitted in - so a bit squashy - 1 adult, 2 kids and numerous luggage. Breakfast very good - everything you could think of. Bar area nice - free welcome drink of something fizzy - but nice touch. Also free mini bar in your room - albeit 1 coke, orange and water - but nice touch. Super - what we thought was pool area - but turns out to be a large jacuzzi - but looked very relaxing - although don't know if anyone used it. We were just passing through on our way to a cruise ship - with a quick sight see when we arrived. Bad side - further out than we thought - although not too far from port for ships. Had to have 2 taxis to centre and back and to ships - as can only carry 4 persons and we were a group of 5 - but hotel were very helpful and ordered them for us. The hotel were very helpful in booking the 4 Cats restaurant - great atmosphere - but eat later on - with kids we were a bit early and it was just warming up when we were leaving.
The best thing about my stay was...Pleasantly surprised about room quirkiness, cleanliness, helpful staff and good breakfast.
