Good Week

, United Kingdom

We arrived to find that our apartment would not be able till the next afternoon, but were put up in a nearby complex and upgraded to all-inclusive for the the inconvenience. Apartment was lovely, food great, staff helpful and we had a really nice time.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Clean, modern apartment.

I stayed here from the 23rd-30th July 13. I must say I read a lot of the reviews & some of them scared the poop out of me enough for me to think..."OMG what have done in booking this hotel" but some reviews gave some good advice. I was pleasantly surprised when we got there. I never encountered an unhappy member of staff. Everyone was pleasant & happy to help with whatever needs you required. The food was lovely....Why people were moaning on here I don't know!! Every day there was something different to eat...Different pasta, rice, potatoes & yes CHIPS....Which you didn't have to eat if you didn't want to! There were different meat/fish options also....I had a great time trying different dishes through the week & if I had a Spainish cake shop local to me at home I would be in trouble sooo yummy :) Someone (review) said they never saw the pool/s being cleaned...Hello, news for you, I'm an early riser & EVERYDAY I saw them cleaning the pools & everyone that got up early to grab the sunbeds also had first hand knowledge of this. Yes you have to be up early to get the beds (they are locked up over night) & you have to stand around until they unlock them but once you put your bed where you wanted it & put your towel on it I didn't hear any complaints. I will say if anyone has some good (mixed music CDs) to lend by the poolside that would be good...The same thing everyday wore thin. One thing that amazed me was lack of insects...One fly fell in love with me & wouldn't leave me alone lol but with the amount of food, soft drinks around there wasn't bees, wasps or ants or even swarms of flies anywhere....& NO MOSQUITOS!!! I did encounter 2 cockroaches (one in the boys room & one in ours) but once I turfed them out (1st day there) we never saw anymore ( keep your room free from crumps & odd bits of food & they have no reason to bother you) This is a big hotel & alas not everyone is clean ( I saw this at the poolside....Too lazy to put their food plates, scraps of food & cups in bins that were around) so staff have a big job keeping the place clean & I would stay there again without hesitation. The rudeness I encountered was from other guests believe it or not.....I would say chat to other people (if you can) I found out if I'd gone self catering & then changed my mind once I got there I could of got a good deal going inclusive...Keeping that one for next year. It is hilly all around so those with little ones & buggies prepare yourself for a lot of up & down walking. The water parks are great but a bit of travelling on the bus to do to go to them....Pack lunches/picnics are not allowed in these but if you hide them well you may get away with it. Pack lunches supplied by the hotel (for inclusive) wasn't up to much (that's my only downside) for two people you got either 2xrolls or 4xslices of bread, a side plate of ham & cheese slices, 2x cheese triangles, butter, 2x chocolate spread tubs 2x apples 2x oranges & 2xsmall bottles of water which is ok in it's self but when your going out for the day being a hot one those things in a carrier bag wasn't a good idea....Now a GOOD idea would to supply a cold box/bag....A 10 euro deposit for the safe return of this wouldn't hurt....Just an idea. You know what that was minor & I don't want that to reflect from the great time we had even with me slipping on some rocks (not at the hotel) & dislocating one of my fingers! I think the fact that I was with teenagers allowed me the time to chill, relax & enjoy my holiday.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Good weather & good hotel/staff.

Taking all into consideration - much impressed by this hotel

, Derry

Excellent service in this hotel - any requests/problems dealt with almost immediately and efficiently. Standard of the hotel was excellent. Food choice and quality was excellent. Didn't like the small plastic glasses. Wine isn't the same from a plastic tumbler. Also plastic glasses could definitely be a bit bigger. There is only a mouthful, especially when you consider the size of the icecubes. Worst thing - by far - about this hotel was the fact that the pool area closed at 6 and we were put off our sun loungers shortly after this. This is the nicest time of the day for me and I would like to sit there until at least 8pm (which is the normal in most Spanish hotels) Bar staff were lovely especially the girl in the Salon bar (think she was from the Canaries) She tried to be really friendly, although struggled because of the queues constantly building behind. I would suggest having self service beer, wine and soft drinks machines available (same as the restaurant) at the other bars - this definitely works in decreasing queues and improving customer service. Daily activities were excellent. I loved the fact that it was well varied and not water polo every day - as most hotels do. Caroline, in charge of the adult activities was excellent.

Nice location, Nice Hotel, would we go back? probably not.

Can't really fault the hotel or location. You get what you pay for, the food was good, there was always something for everyone but became a bit repetitive. Best bits was Los Gigantes and Loro Parque, Boat trip at Los Gigantes 15 euros for adults kids free and we could nearly touch the whales and dolphins, Loro Parque was amazing, well worth the drive and would definitely go there again. Although a nice holiday we'll probably try Gran Canaria next time. The Lanes from Devon.

It's confortable and cheap. It's enough for a relax weekend.

, Santa Cruz de Tenerife/Spain

The rooms are silent, and the small kitchen was enough for us. There isn't close to the beach. It's very difficult to get parking

I would recommend this hotel if you were in good company. We stayed all inclusive and the food was okay, Breakfast been the best. The main downfall for this hotel was some of the staff were quite rude towards us. The entertainment for the kids was really good they had games/activities throughoout the day for kids and adults. They weren't very good at fixing things in the room that didn't work but we weren't in the room that much so it didn't affect us that much. I don't think I would stay here if I went self catering - All in all we had a good holiday but that was largely due to the group of people we went with.

Me and my partner have just come back from staying at the Tamaimo Tropical Apps (all inclusive), upon reading the reviews i was a bit weary of staying; it was not like the reviews say although some of the food was repeated everyday it did not put me off, rooms were cleaned everyday and were basic but what more do you need when thats all you mainly do is sleep there! There was a down side to the appartment is that we asked for sea view and their idea of a sea view was a small opening between x2 shops so if your wanting a view ask for a pool one. Just be aware if you do stay and it rains as you could be waking up to water flowing through as we did but after we spoke to reception it was cleaned up very quickly and promptly. I can say you will have a pleasant stay, dont always believe the reviews you read. Yes I would stay there again but you will need to travel afield as you are in a very quiet location, local busses run but depends on where you are wanting to go, we went to costa adeje and los christianos which is between 1-2hr journey, there is a local beach but not worth sunbathing at due to its size, your better off walking to the next village which is playa de la arena where there is a tidy sized beach with black sand. Hope this makes your mind up about staying because it is a nice place to stay, its cheap, chearful.

The best thing about my stay was ...

excellant holiday

, Dunfermline

Since our last visit, food and cleaners not up to standard, food not hot enough, on saying that, the staff were most pleasant and helpful, any enquiry was dealt with quickly. Apartment was adequate, We had requested a sunny balcony which we got. Tranfers were excellent to and from the airport, flights were on time.Would not hesitate to book through alpha rooms again for value for money and no hassles, but not neccessary the same area as it is quite hilly not ideal for the infirm.

Whilst waiting two and a half hours for our apartment to be cleaned, we thought we would catch a bite to eat at the poolside snack bar. There was very little choice and the quality of the food was appalling. It was at this point I was relieved we hadn't chosen to go all inclusive. We eventually got into the apartment to find dead cockroaches outside the patio door. Not a good start !! We were on the groundfloor so maybe a few bugs could be accepted. Very spacious but not clean. Very little cooking appliances and all were filthy. Two single beds in the bedroom were suitable for my daughter and her friend. My bed consisted of a single sofa with a 1 inch mattress on a not much thicker piece of ply wood. Needless to say I had 5 very uncomfortable nights. Hotel was very noisy at night but we were close to the evening entertainment area. The pool areas were well kept and clean. Plenty of sunbeds yet people still insisted on putting out towels. Not many English. The pool water was unswimmable.....freezing cold. We were joined in the apartment by more cockroaches on several other occasions which did not go down very well with 2 screaming teenagers. Add to that the time the pigeons were helping themselves to the food at the snack bar and still remained available for the public to eat, and the fact that the majority of the few english people I spoke to all ate out in the evening, I really would say....choose somewhere else to spend your holiday. Glad we only had 5 days there !!

Pool is kept very clean and sun beds are new and plentyful . if you like a peaceful place its great with nice evening walks and a few local bars would not hesitate to stay again

great break

, Long Eaton, Nottingham

A very enjoyable week. My wife and I just wanted a week relaxing in the sun with a good book and a cold beer.and got just what we wanted (a bit of rain one day but still hot) Went all inclusive and thought very good value. Friendly, helpful, staff.food o.k. a bit limited fo my veggie wife, but she found something she was happy with every meal. Plenty of room around two good size pool areas. No problem getting sun beds etc. . I do not recommend a shuttle type transfer from/to the airport. Transfer time was estimated at one hour, but took nearly three hours, with multiple drops (Resorthopper.com). We were last off and first on. For around 40 euro I think a taxi is much the better option. We will go back again.

Myself & my husband stayed here in march 2010 for a week of all inclusive peace away from the kids. A perfect hotel set in peaceful surroundings perfect for lazing by the pool by day & taking long romantic walks by the rugged coastline by night. On arrival which was pretty late 10ish we found our room clean, aired & to be overlooking the pool (nice view at night over a few drinks on the balcony). Food over the week was a little repetative but overall edible (coffee lovers beware & take your own as seemed rationed at times & regulars brought their own mugs!) Few cockroaches around the walkways at night but with the climate i would have expected to see more. Plenty of gecho's to be seen too!! Loved it!! Currently saving hard to go back with youngest for xmas to show him the dolphins on the boat trip. very de-stressed wife bolton

Not bad at all.

, Newcastle upon Tyne

We found the rooms to be fine. Not a bad size, clean and with plenty of hot water day and night. Getting a sun longer was a nightmare unless you were prepared to que from 7am which I was not. People were reserving them with a towl and then used them for an hour and the rest of the time they would be empty. I put this down to bad mannered people, but I would like to have seen the managment removing these towls. We found there to be a lot of trouble(domestics) in the hotel at nights because of the all inclusive Brits who were full of drink. Spanish police must of been sick. But thats down to people themselves and not the hotel. But on the other hand we met some real nice people and had a good laugh. All in all its not bad there and a holidays what you make it. A pint of the local beer down the town was 3 euro.

We read some reviews before we went which were a bit off putting but there was nothing wrong with these apartments at all. Food was excellent and plenty of choice. There are swimming pools to suit everybody and lots of activities during the day. There are even competitions to win certificates. polite and kind workers, cheerful waiters. Lots of little shops and restaurants nearby. Best holiday ever!

Had big reservations on staying at this hotel. Previously stayed at Los Gigantes so knew the area very well. After reading some of the reviews we were not looking forward to going to the Tamaimo, we even tried to change hotels at the last minute because of the bad reports. Well I am so pleased to say we had a lovely time. We had two teenage girls with us both 18 and had only booked a one bedroom apartment. On ariving at the hotel we were given our room which was on the top floor over looking the pool, and it had two bedrooms at no extra cost. I do not usually take alot of notice as I feel some people will complain at anything. Yes the sun beds were all taken by 8 o' clock, and we did have a visit from a cockroach or two, but these were easily gotten rid of. All in all a lovely hotel, staff very friendly, we were self catering so cannot comment on the food, but all hotels are fairly repetative. Loads of bars and restaurants in the area, catering for all tastes. Would not hesitate in returning.
