Quite location

Surrounding buildings half finished or empty, calletta 15minute walk away. Nice for a week away by the pool but not if you're wanting the hustle and bustle of a busy tourist town.

A place in the middle of nowhere with a fine ocean view

quiet place with a couple of bars and few lively hotels. Nice walk to Caleta along coast will take 45 minutes. Good base for excursions inside the island.

TOO QUIET

OUR HOTEL WAS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE BEACH WHICH OTHER PEOPLE STAYING AT OTHER ELBA HOTELS WOULD NOT HAVE HAD. OTHER PARTS OF CALETA HAD QUITE A ROCKY BEACH. OUR BEACH WAS MAN MADE BUT GOLDEN SAND FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH A CAFE SET OUT INTO THE SEA. OTHER THAN THE COMMERCIAL CENTRE JUST ALONG THE ROAD, THERE WERE NO BARS, SHOPS OR RESTAURANTS ALONG THE SEA FRONT SO A GENTLE STROLL AT NIGHT TURNED OUT TO BE A VERY LONELY ONE AS THERE WAS NOTHING AND NO-ONE THERE. THERE WERE BARS AND RESTAURANTS FURTHER ALONG THE COAST NEAR THE SMALL HARBOUR BUT IT WASN'T REALLY IN WALKING DISTANCE AND THE PROMENADE JUST STOPPED HALF WAY ALONG. MOST OF THE ENTERTAINMENT WAS IN THE HOTELS BUT GENERALLY, THE ENTERTAINMENT FINISHED AT ABOUT 10.30. THE COURTESY BUS WAS VERY GOOD AND ENABLED PEOPLE TO TRAVEL TO AND FROM OTHER ELBA HOTELS AND COMMERCIAL CENTRES WITHIN CALETA. GENERALLY, THE RESORT IS VERY QUIET WHICH WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO JUST WANT TO CHILL AND SIT BY THE POOL OR ON THE BEACH MOST OF THE DAY. ALTHOUGH WE HAD HEARD THAT IT WAS QUIET, FOR US, IT WAS TOO QUIET IN GENERAL WITH NOT MUCH TO DO OR SEE.

The best thing about my stay was ...

QUIET AND RELAXING IF THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE AFTER FROM A HOLIDAY
