Costa Teguise Holidays & Hotels

Just a short, 30 minute drive north-east of Lanzarote airport, the purpose-built resort-town of Costa Teguise sits firmly on the blissful beachfront. As an incredible gateway to some of the islands most popular northern attractions, Costa Teguise is the ideal destination for those that want an action-packed break to the Canary Islands.

Hotels in Costa Teguise

If you’re looking to stay in Costa Teguise then there are a number of different places you can choose. From studio apartments and luxury villas to hotels and resorts, there is accommodation to suit everyone’s needs and holiday budgets. When it comes to hotels, you will find a range of cheap hotels from three-star, right through to the five-star luxury of some of the best hotels on the island.

Where to stay

Las Cucharas

Costa Tequise has two popular areas to stay in, both of which are located to some of the island’s much-loved beaches. The first area, the larger of the two, is near the beach of Las Cucharas. With bars and restaurants lining the promenade, this is the ideal spot for those staying in self-catering accommodation. Water sports and day trips are also easily accessible from the nearby beach.

Playa Bastian

Although Playa Bastian is smaller, it’s still an incredibly popular holiday resort area for both families and couples due to its quiet nature. The area is certainly less populated than Las Cucharas, however, it does offer plenty of high-quality restaurants and evening entertainment for those times you want to leave your hotel.

What to see

If you’re staying in Costa Teguise, there are plenty of things to do in Lanzarote should you choose to leave the comfort of your resort. If you’re looking for stunning beaches, you definitely won’t be short of places to go to as, in total, there are five beaches in the area – including Playa Cucharas and Playa Bastian. With the most beautiful golden sand, sun loungers and umbrellas, you will have everything you need for a day at the beach.

Other than beaches, Costa Teguise is well positioned if you want to explore the many tourist attractions in the North of Lanzarote. With incredible sightts such as the Cueva de Los Verdes, Jameos del Agua and the Jardin de Cactus, a day of exploring should definitely be on your Canary Island bucket list.

For the adventurers, Costa Teguise is also home to the only water park on the island. Lanzarote’s AquaPark is open daily from 10.00 to 18.00 and for roughly €18, you can spend the day there. Although it can be a little chilly in the winter, it’s still a great day out for the whole family. The holiday resort is also home to Lanzarote´s only aquarium, which if you’re looking for an afternoon of fun, can provide a decent diversion for families.

If you’re looking for a more action-packed holiday, Costa Teguise is the perfect place to take part in some island sports. For both tourist and locals alike, windsurfing is a major pastime. There are plenty of schools, shops and equipment rental companies surrounding the beach at Las Cucharas, making it the best location for windsurfing on the island. If you’re a beginner, don’t worry, all levels of experience are catered for.

Cycling and running are also widely enjoyed for the more energetic amongst us, as both the climate and safe roads make for a very pleasant experience. With plenty of routes for all abilities, you can find something for everyone.

Finally, Costa Teguise is also home to some of the oldest golf courses on the island. If you’re looking for a relaxing golfing break, this is definitely the area to be. What can be better than eighteen holes in the sun, all year round?

The main nightlife in Costa Teguise is located around Avenida de las Islas Canarias and between Calla las Olas and Calla le Goleta. If you’re visiting the area, this is where you’ll find some of Lanzarote’s best cocktail bars. Whilst there are plenty of bars to visit, the nightlife in Costa Teguise is much more limited than the likes of Puerto del Carmen or Playa Blanca, which appeal more to clubbers and large groups of friends.

What to eat

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat during the evening, there are plenty of good quality restaurants for you to enjoy. Whether you’re visiting Playa Bastian or Playa Chucharas, you’re to find something that serves a range of good quality international cuisine. If you prefer something a little more Spanish, El Nivarro in Playa Bastian is highly recommended.

Like most purpose-built resorts in the Canary Islands, there is no shortage of shops aimed towards tourists. With plenty of jewellers, discount electrical stores and general gift shops, most budgets and tastes are catered for.

If you are visiting the island on a self-catering holiday, there are lots of smaller supermarkets within the area. Stocking a good range of international produce and essentials, you don’t need to worry about catering for yourselves.

If you’re looking to stock up your villa or room for the week, a larger supermarket is also located on the outskirts of Costa Teguise. This is the best outlet if you are looking to buy fresh meat, fish and alcoholic drinks.

Beautiful beach, lots of bars & restaurants

Lovely Clean Beach, rocky in places, plenty of bars, restaurants, holiday shops available. Ice creams/soft drinks/beers etc readily available. Aqua park only a short taxi ride away - rather expensive 22.5E adults, 16E children, once in you then need to pay for a sun lounger (?!) but extremely good fun! Bikes can be hired/car hire too. Plenty of buses & taxi's. Lovely promenade to walk/cycle along. Would definitely go again - we ranged from 3 yrs - 70 yrs and everyone enjoyed themselves.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Sunshine & Beach - wonderful

This was our fourth visit to Costa Teguise, the first being over 15 years ago. A lot has change over the years, but thankfully for the better. Lovely sea front walk, improved beaches. Plenty of reasturants and shops, not too noisy or too busy.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Beaches, especially Jabillo, snorkelling with the fish is great.

Relaxing and Clean

The resort is very clean, been twice in march and it is also quite compared to PDC, Not bustling with bars and club's, but still plenty of choice and variations. Eating out- again lots of choice in the centre and sea front. The area is suitable for people with mobility problems as it is mainly flat with wheel/push access. Beaches are clean. It can be quite windy which is a blessing some days when it's hot dont forgt the sun screen on cloudy windy day's.
