Pleasant environment...small and friendly

Medano has been my favourite for many years. The Arenas dl Mar has been improved and is easily the best hotel choice although a testing walk to town is demanding if disabled in a small way. The info bureau is outstanding

The best thing about my stay was ...

Comfortable and convenient

Spanish town and not too commercial

All shopping requirements without the ridiculous shopping malls found in other tourist towns. There are no noisy night clubs and although there are lots of nice local bars there are no excess boozing joints.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Best beach and so close to airport with good rood routes to reach other parts of the island.

Quite and relaxing

Reasonable town beach but others within walking distance which are superb. Resort has a village feel to it and there's not a lager lout in sight making it a dream! Can be very windy. Despite close proximity to TFS airport there is little in the way of aircraft noise.

Sad to leave!

Enjoyed another relaxing holiday in Hotel Medano, As returning guests we received a warm welcome from the staff. The food was varied with enough choice to satisfy all but the most fastidious of guests. Looking forward to my next visit, hopefully within the next 3 months.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Quiet location on a lovely beach.

Remote, quiet location

Remote, quiet location. El Medano a 20 minute walk away from Arenas de Mar. The town is quaint, clean and interesting, with everything on offer. Obviously it is slightly windy, as it is known for its windsurfing. It felt safe and the locals support the restaurants so that is a good indicator. It is quite cosmopolitan, severl different nationalities It has an amazing beach

Great Location

Beach class massive waves take your body board (thats adults too) invigorating and a full body work out. Taxi from airport 12 euros - approx 10 minutes travel. Town 15 minute walk to the Real Tenerife, full of locals, Market on Wednesday and Saturday small but has the usual stuff.

The best thing about my stay was ...

A quiet Spanish resort

This is basically a Spanish location, it does not offer 'teas like mums make' or all day full English breakfast, if you want this go to Playa Americas and good luck if you do! El Medano has a lovely beach and there are plenty of small bars and restaurants, most within 5 minutes walk from the Hotel Medano. The Plaza Roja does good draught beer and food, Underground is a late night rock pub.

The best thing about my stay was ...

This place is ideal for a family holiday, with a great beach.

Nice traditional seaside town a bit off the main tourist track - great for wind surfers and kite surfers

Close to Reina Sofia airport (accessible by public transport), large sandy beach and plenty of choices of bars and restaurants offering a range of food. Great for those who like wind and kite surfing and because of the beach good for children too

The best thing about my stay was ...

The seafront and beach

Good for a quiet time.

A Spanish town, if you want 'tea like mum makes' then don't come here! This is a quiet small town, the beach is good, there are plenty of small friendly bars, reasonably priced. If you want sunshine and a restful time this is the place. If you want raucous and drunken British yobs then go to Los Chritianos/Playa Americas!

The best thing about my stay was ...

Fairly quiet, close to the airport, (10 mins). A good selection of Spanish style bars.

Pleasant, traditional Spanish town, with very good Blue Flag beaches

El Medano tries to retain it traditional Spanish feel, despite some pretty thoughtless modern development and incursion in to would should be coastal conservation areas. One extensive conservation area, with an extinct volcano, does exist on the headland. Beaches are excellet

Not a tourist resort.

Nothing to do, if you didn't windsurf. No local entertainment that we noticed. Could be an up and coming tourist resort but not at present.

El Medano in February

only go there if you are a serious and advanced windsurfer or want to sit by the pool all day and do a lot of reading

The best thing about my stay was ...

it is not as cold as England
