Fuerteventura Hotels and Apartments
Fuerteventura loosely translated means “strong winds” making this destination the perfect place to hone your wind or kitesurfing skills. The east coast of the island is home to the main holiday resorts of Caleta de Fuste and Corralejo. The island of Los Lobos is a popular day trip opportunity off the coast of Corralejo.
The southern end of Fuerteventura is home to the beautiful national park of Jandia as well as the lovely beaches of the Costa Calma.
Sunshine and wind
Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands. This rugged, windy island has been a haven for tourists since the 1960’s. You will love the amazing year round climate, complete with over 3,000 hours of sunshine. The Fuerteventura landscape is typical of the Canary Islands in general with a remote, volcanic interior and wonderful sandy coastline. The island has managed to maintain a real sense of authenticity despite the development that has taken place over the last 30 or 40 years. You can expect a more tranquil holiday than on any of the neighbouring islands.
Mountain tops and beaches
Head north to Corralejo and marvel at the incredible sand dunes rolling inland from the Atlantic Ocean. The area is a popular hotspot for surfers and windsurfers. The conditions are perfect with big Atlantic waves and a seemingly ever present wind. Further south the landscape changes and the beautiful, expansive beaches are home to more sedate holidaymakers. Jandia is a popular destination with the impressive Parque Natural at the heart of the area. You can go from mountain top to beach within a couple of hours.

Fuerteventura Music Festival
Typically held in late June, this music festival is a spectacular affair. The tourist town of El Cotillo in the north plays host to a great range of bands and performers. The event is spread across the area with a range of outdoor venues to choose from. This is a great opportunity to get involved with a local event in a lovely resort.
