Great place

Lovely quiet location, very relaxing and Las Burras beach was great. The waves were fun and there are life guards for safety. SAN Augustin is not as touristy as the larger areas and this is very appealing as no time share sellers or anyone trying to sell you things.

Seems residential

There are quite a few hotels, but it has a very residential feel to it. There seemed to be lots of locals on the beach. I liked the uncommercial feel of it. The sand is not a very appetising colour but the bay was lovely to swim in and they have a shower to wash off the sand and salt. Did not eat out or really explore too much. Would return.

The best thing about my stay was ...

low key.

Quiet location

San Augustin is a quieter resort than its neighbour, Playa del Ingles. There are a few shops selling the usual tourist souvenirs and quite a few eateries than seem to appeal to both locals and tourists alike

The best thing about my stay was ...

Quiet..perfect for a relaxing holiday

Great views - no access to beach

The hotel is at the Bahia Feliz end of San Agustin. The views out to sea are fantastic. There is a small 'village' of shops, mini-bungalows, a few hotels and apartments. It has good public transport links to Playa del Ingles, Maspalomas, Puerto Rico, Las Palmas (capital of Gran Canaria) and the airport. The steep cliffs make access difficult except by car, taxi or bus. You can't walk along the coast. There is no continuous road. There is a small shopping centre complex with several restaurants and bars although we did not try any of them. The very small beach, close the Orquidea hotel is the only part of the resort that is at sea level.

Small Quiet town close to the action

San Agustin is a lovely small town with few shops and bars. It is not "over done" like most towns in the Canary Islands and is close enough to the larger towns to enjoy them without having to vacation in the middle of town.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Central to both north and south of the Island making it a good base for exploring by either car, bus or walking

Marinasol is not in San Augustin but Playa del Aquila some distance away.

Although advertised as San Augustin the Marinasol is a distance away at Playa del Aquila, a very quiet, nothing happening resort. a bus, taxi or long walk was needed to go to San Augusin. This was a small but lively resort with agood black sand beach and facilities. I would go again to it.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Sand not pebbles unlike the beaches near the Marinasol
