I like Silema because of its level walking and the lovely harbour views over towards Valetta. It is an ideal place for travelling to both ends of the Northern coast of Malta The New shopping centre too is ultra modern, and combined with the new Arriva buses make this a great place to stay.

i was not keen on silema to start with, but now i cant get enough

the shopping is world class, i personally dont like shopping, so my husband took the daughters out and i didnt see them for hours and hours and they came back loaded with bags and still had plenty of euros left. eating out is wide range, they dont skimp on the portions and if you choose well dont spend too much money. there are plenty of cafe stands to grab a coffee or juice. we found a few supermarkets in and around silema but the mini markets off the main street, wasnt that much more expensive. the vendors with trucks full of fruit and veg werent too bad either. there were plenty of filtered wi-fi spots that did work and of course some eaterys offered free wi-fi. the parks and walk ways from The point into St Julians were surperb and we walked that route daily. the only down side which we both found very annoying each day, was when we got to a certain point on the main drag in silema, the staff for all the cruises, tours, taxis, boats you name it, we got cornered every time. even when we tried to dodge them they hassled us. they even did it on the walk back one day, not recognising us from 60 minutes earlier... this put us off for a few days, then we just got curt with them! suprise suprise the most pushy ones were english !

The best thing about my stay was ...

the atmosphere of a buzzing place but with a quiet getway around the next bend

It was a perfect place for holidays, crowded but calm. It was near the Valletta (only 10-15 minutes by bus), the ferries to reach all places in Malta (boats for cruise), with a lot of good shops. It was perfect for families.

The best thing about my stay was ...

the proximity to all and the pacific place

malta, i fell in love with this country within hours of landing

sliema is very busy, has all the big names in shops, lots of road side cafes that do get busy at certain times of the day, plenty of small grocery shops at cheap prices, if you cross the road and walk along the water front it is just so relaxing looking over at valletta

Lovely place to stay, spotlessly clean with beautiful views. Pebbles Restaurant was the best place to eat and when back there 4 times during our week there. Good Location.

Although the hotel was not great the location was amazing. Although it says sliema, it closer to St Julians. Which is a lot better as there are shops, nightlife and restaurants. There are lovely restaurants along the road to St Julians, which will take you 5-10 minutes. The bus stop is right outside the hotel so you can even hop on a bus. Good thing with the buses, they go everywhere. If you are going anywhere in Malta, it will have to be Sliema or St Julians as they offer a lot more tourist attractions e.g. we got on a boat to the blue lagoon, which is on the island of comino just of Malta - takes an hour.Bus services, night life, Restaurant, experiences, days out, cafes, bars, etc.

The best thing about my stay was ...

the amount of stuff to do.
