Lovely but expensive city

, Dublin

Oslo is a lovely city with plenty of sights to be seen. The price of everything is expensive even compared to Ireland so be prepared. Would recommend buying the Oslo Pass (24hr, 48hr or 72hr) which gives entrance to many of the museums etc. for free and can be used on all local transport (bus, tram and underground). People were friendly and all spoke English.

OSLO IS A BEAUTIFUL CITY

, Co. Meath

AT THE TIME OF OUR STAY THERE, IT WAS JUST AFTER THE BOMBING SO THE ATMOSPHERE WAS A BIT DOWN. PEOPLE WERE SO SAD AND JUST DEVASTATED. WE'LL BE BACK THERE AGAIN.

The best thing about my stay was ...

THE PEOPLE ARE SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. OSLO IS EXPENSIVE.

SHORT BREAK IN OSLO

, DERRY CITY IRELAND

IT PAINS ME TO SAY THAT MY OVERRIDING IMPRESSION OF OSLO WAS THAT IT IS HUGELY EXPENSIVE. YES, IT IS CLEAN, UNCROWDED AND QUIET. BUT MY INCOME DOES NOT SIT WELL WITH PAYING £25 FOR 2 CUPS OF TEA AND 2 VEGETARIAN SANDWICHES. AT JUST UNDER £9 FOR A PINT OF BEER YOU WILL NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT MORNING-AFTER HEADACHES. ONE CAN CHOOSE TO FOREGO THE ALCOHOL, BUT THE EXORBITANT PRICE OF FOOD (£18-£19 FOR FISH AND CHIPS) MAKES NORWAY AN UNREALISTIC DESTINATION FOR MOST.

The best thing about my stay was ...

CLEAN AIR, CLEAN STREETS.
