Costa Del Sol Hotels and Apartments
Costa Del Sol Overview
The Costa del Sol is a holiday hotspot in every sense of the word. The soaring summer temperatures ensure guaranteed sunshine and balmy evenings. Marbella is the glamourous option with the sparkling marina and high end restaurants attracting the rich and famous. The family friendly resorts of Fuengirola and Benalmadena offer Blue Flag beaches and first class entertainment.
Away from the coast, the Costa del Sol reveals a quieter more sedate side with remote mountain top villages and churches waiting to be discovered.
Holiday destination since the 1950s
The Costa del Sol has been a holiday destination since the 1950s when celebrities started to appear on the beach in Torremolinos. Prior to this point the old towns tucked away in the foothills housed local agricultural workers and fishermen. As tourism took over so did the development of the huge expanse of coastline running from Malaga all the way beyond Estepona towards Gibraltar.
Family friendly resorts
The Costa del Sol of today is still one of the most popular sunshine destinations in the Mediterranean. Families flock to the large tourist friendly resorts of Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Benalmadena while the jet set still moor their yachts in Puerto Banus. The beautiful beaches and incredible climate make a perfect combination. Throw in great food, whitewashed villages and historic old towns and you have the ultimate Costa del Sol holiday.
