Portinatx the quiet and stunningly beautiful resort

We first visited Portinatx in the mid 80's, it was quiet and very beautiful then and remains so today. The buildings are low level and seem to follow the contours of the hills without overpowering the resort. There are some excellent restaurants and some lively bars, but this is not the night clubbing resort of the island. If you are brave enough to hire a car you will enjoy some fabulous scenary particularly around the north of the island. The beaches are sandy and safe, the water is clear and blue and there are many little coves and beaches to explore if you want to get away from the crouds.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The beaches and the scenary

Portinatx - pronounced port-in-atch

Family and couple-friendly resort. Three beaches to choose from. Beautiful pine forests and stunning views. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. Attracts a diverse range of visitors. Great base from which to explore the island and regular bus service. Friendly locals who speak many languages, but it's always nice to try your hand at Spanish/Catalan and you'll be rewarded with a smile!

The best thing about my stay was ...

Don't miss the little bar on the far beach with its chill-out tunes

Beautiful Beaches

Absolutely Beautiful .............. Sea is crystal clear, beaches are golden and clean, lovely little bars/restaraunts around the beach. And in the square there are a couple of English bars which offer good food, live music and entertainment evenings. Probably not the best place to go if you want banging nightlife but it suited us perfect with a seven year old.

Quiet, undeveloped, excellent views

Very small town with a few bars, restaurants and shops. The beachfront offers a range of watersports at a reasonable charge and is suitable for snorkelling. A taxi to the airport is about 50 Euro.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Beautiful bay, small resort

Lovely place set in a beautiful bay with turquoise sea. It is a small resort with the usual seaside shops selling inflatables, jewellery etc but not a high rise in sight & no English themed pubs either. Just small bars & restaurants, coffee shops, touristy shops & a tabacconist! Very quaint & still has an authentic vibe
