Puerto Pollensa Holidays & Hotels

Hotels in Puerto Pollensa

Accommodation options in Puerto Pollensa range from cheap resorts to private villas, mid-range hotels and luxury apartments. Whether you’re visiting with your other half, friends or your entire family, there’s holiday accommodation to suit you and your needs.

The enchanting Puerto Pollensa sits at the northern tip of Mallorca, overlooking a sweeping crescent-shaped bay. It sits at the foot of the Tramuntana mountain range, an old fishing village full of hustle and bustle. Visitors head to the area for its family friendly vibes and beautiful sandy beaches, plus its range of restaurants and water sport activities.

Where to stay

The Port Area

Slap bang in the middle of everything, the port area is best for those who want to be amongst the hustle and bustle of the town. It’s lively and busy throughout the summer, with restaurants, bars and supermarkets right on your doorstep and open throughout the evening. Holiday apartments are nestled in next to traditional shops, giving an opportunity to get a real feel for the local area.

El Pinaret

Just a short leisurely stroll away from the center of Puerto Pollensa, El Pinaret is a quieter area close to the seafront. You won’t find too many large-scale resorts here; instead, the focus is on smaller resorts offering homely apartments for groups. Many of these resorts have direct access to the beach, as well as private pools.

Many people choose to stay in villas on the outskirts of Puerto Pollensa. Away from the large resorts and beaches, these spots are a little more secluded and peaceful, offering mountain views to boot. It’s best to rent a car though, so that you’ll have easy access to Puerto Pollensa when it suits you.

What to see

A holiday to Puerto Pollensa is a haven for outdoorsy types, whether that’s in the form of sunbathing, taking part in watersports, or taking a hike up around the nearby mountains. Pine Walk, which gets its name from the pine trees lining the promenade, is a popular place for a stroll during the evening and the day. Here you’ll be on top of the Platja d'Albercutx beach, as well as close to various gift shops.

One of the most popular spots nearby is the viewing platform at Mirador de Sa Creueta. It’s an 11-minute drive out of Puerto Pollensa, but it’s worth it for panoramic views out across the cliffs and the sea. Head there at sunset to get the best snaps.

With a quieter nightlife scene than nearby Alcudia, Puerto Pollensa still has a smattering of bars, restaurants and clubs to keep visitors entertained once the sun goes down. Many bars and restaurants are located near the Pine Walk and the main square, while Irish bars, karaoke and discos keep the party going into the night.

What to eat

Puerto Pollensa has a solid reputation as a foodie destination for holidaymakers, offering up everything from budget eateries to Michelin-starred restaurants. There’s a huge choice of cuisine to be enjoyed, with something for all budgets available. Traditional Mallorcan cuisine is served at various spots across the town, including local produce such as olives and port. Many of the restaurants are focused around the beachfront, providing stunning sea views alongside each meal.

If shopping on holiday is your sort of thing, held in the main square in the center of town, Puerto Pollensa Market takes place every Wednesday between 9am and 1pm. It’s the place to pick up local produce as well as to have a rummage through stalls selling clothes, sunglasses and more.

In the center of town there are also a number of shops selling souvenirs. But if it’s larger shops you’re after, don’t forget that Palma de Mallorca, the island’s capital, is just a direct bus ride away - the number 340 bus takes you straight to the city center in an hour.

Puerto Pollensa is fabulous! in spite of some rainy days and the unfortunate general strike, which meant we flew back hand baggage only! Beach is lovely and clean and sea is clear. Fish swim round you and feed out of your hand if you take bread. Lots of places to eat to suit all tastes and frequent buses. Lots of english people! Only spanish people seem to be the ones who work in the surrounding shops, hotels etc. Try a trip with No frills excursions- found along the road towards the centre. Marineland fabulous! Wish could have gone on more trips and stayed longer! In spite of all the problems we had with strike etc I can't wait to go back next year..but breakfast only. Prefer to eat out in the evening and not be tied to time. Also would like to go early in year..say MAY or JUNE as nights dark by 8pm.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Everything! My first time there and loved it..can't help the weather!

Beautiful Puerto Pollensa

This is a beautiful resort. Great for couples with young families or more mature people. Easy to walk around-no hills. The Pine Walk is a lovely walk along the promenade with an amazing choice of restaurants. My sister and I found a little gem of a restaurant called Pepe's - opposite the Flora Apts. Had lovely meal including wine for less than 15Euros! Lovely beach with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. Everyone I spoke to remarked on how safe they felt when walking around.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Great choice of restaurants, great beach and a lovely ambience about the whole place.

Puerto Pollensa is a fantastic place for people of all ages. There is lots to do on the beach such as watersports, pedaloes, fishing on the jetty, boat trips or simply lazing on the sand. The beach is ideal for families as the water is shallow and calm and has lifeguards on duty. There is a great bus/taxi service which can take you further afeild if you wish but everything you need is in Puerto Pollensa. The range of restaurants is fantasic with our favourites being: Stay, La Llonja, Maxim, Lal'Mirant, The Miramar. There is a market in the square twice per week with many interesting things to see and buy. The beach front has many shops, bars and restaurants to cater for all needs. For all boat enthusiasts or anyone with an interest, the port has hundreds of boats to look at or ride in. Elvis is also a must-see!

Puerto Pollenca

Fabulous! Although it was August, and a lot of tourists, it never felt too overcrowded. No problems with louts. A very easy place to visit and right on the beach. Everything clean. And, everybody friendly and speak English! Shameful that the English do not speak languages. Lovely boats trips available. The island is beautiful and worth exploring.

Not too noisy, good restaurants, great views

I recommend a walk through the Boquer Valley and a drive out along the Fermentor Peninsula. The place is so full of British tourists, you could almost think that you were home - but for the weather and the scenery.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The little parks and the Boquer Valley

In a lovely setting with the bay and mountains

Easy cheap bus service to Formentor,Pollensa Old town,Alcudia and Alcudia old town. Great Market in Puerto Pollensa on wednesday and Pollensa on a sunday. Lots of restaurants and bars, something for everyone. the beach is lovely and shallow .lots of shopping but also a good bus service to Palma.Although it has grown a bit over the years it has not lost its authentic Majorcan village feel.

What a beautiful place!

Clean beaches; clear water with every shade of blue. Friendly people. Tasty food in a large range of restaurants. Easy to cycle and explore nearby coves and bays, as well as olive groves and cool pine woods. Good for bird-watching up on the rocky hillsides. Perfect for families with small children as there are no tides or waves and the water is shallow to a long way out.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The beaches by the Pine Walk.
