Salou Holidays & Hotel

Hotels in Salou

With hundreds of accommodation options in Salou, visitors are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing where to stay. Whether you’re after a resort or something a little more of a home-from-home, you’ll find it here. Accommodation is also available in a range of budgets from a cheap deal right through to luxury, making it easy to find something that doesn’t break the bank.

Located in the province of Tarragona, along Spain’s Costa Daurada, Salou boasts stunning beaches, theme parks, water sports and more. Whether you’re looking for some peaceful R&R or a thriving holiday destination, Salou has something for everyone.

Where to stay

Llevant Beach

The transport system in Salou is second-to-none, meaning that no matter which area you stay in, you’ll find it easy to get around all the main sights and attractions. Llevant Beach is an urban location close to the center of town and in close proximity to all the nightlife. Accommodation is primarily in the form of holiday apartments and budget hotels.

Port Aventura

Further inland is Port Aventura, which is popular for those wanting to focus their holiday around the Salou theme parks. There are a handful of resorts dotted around, and the beaches are just a 12-minute drive away.

Salou Old Town

Staying in the Old Town ensures you’re on top of virtually everything, from charming shops to the town’s many beaches. A lot of the holiday rentals around here are within older buildings, giving them a unique charm. Some even have added features such as a rooftop hot tub so that you can enjoy the views while you relax.

What to see

PortAventura is one of the main family attractions for holidaymakers in Salou. Owing to its popularity, the theme park now includes four hotels as well as a gigantic water park and adrenaline-pumping roller coasters. Ferrari Land is right next door, too, with Ferrari-themed rides, exhibitions and restaurants to suit kids both big and small.

Naturally, the Salou beaches are also a huge draw. With 14km of coastline, there are golden beaches and craggy rocks galore - Platja Llevant is the main beach and is particularly popular with families and groups of friends, but Platja Capellans and Platja Ponent are also worth a visit.

Those wanting to take a break from the beach and see the sights slightly further afield can head out on a day trip to Barcelona

Direct trains take you to the coastal city in under an hour and a half - be sure to visit Park Güell and the Sagrada Família, Gaudi’s famously unfinished church.

As one of the liveliest resorts in the Costa Doradu, Salou’s nightlife doesn’t disappoint. The area caters for young partiers and people looking for somewhere a little more refined, with clubs, bingo bars, discos and sports bars showing international matches. Much of the nightlife is centered in one place around Capellans beach, with the winding streets full of spots to keep your night in full swing. Expect to find local drinks and traditional sangria, as well as international alcoholic favourites.

What to eat

From international fast food favourites to traditional tapas restaurants, Salou almost has somewhere different to eat for every day in the year! There are a number of moderately priced places dedicated to serving up traditional British dishes too, making it a real home-from-home for your palate. If it’s fine dining you’re after, Salou has got that covered too - there are several high-end restaurants ready to take your taste buds on a culinary journey.

For the best local bargains on your holiday, head to Salou’s old town centre on a Monday for a rummage around the local flea market. Locals take to the streets with their wares, as varied as clothing, homemade crafts and little souvenirs. Other gift shops line the seafront, so you can easily pick up souvenirs to take home to friends and family in between bouts of sunbathing.

Local food and clothing shops are dotted around the old town’s side streets, but Port Halley is a one-stop shop for purchases and entertainment. As well as a large supermarket it’s got a cinema, restaurants and a bowling alley, making it easy to spend an entire day there.

amazing place

loved everything about Salou - it is a place for EVERYONE or all ages... There is something to do all the time but yet you can relax as Salou doesn't have a 'mad-rush' feel about it.. The food is great, the people are great and it feels very safe. A very clean destination with beautiful beaches and great shops and bars to keep you occupied.

Beautiful beaches, great for relaxing but plenty to do if you want

Salou is a lovely resort. The beaches are lovely - sandy, spotlessly clean & safe. There are plenty of play areas in the shade for children. There is a walkway or promenade almost from Port Salou to Cambrils if you fancy going for a long walk. The light show at the fountain is well worth seeing. There are plenty of shops and you can always go into Barcelona which is only a bus or train ride away. Port Aventura is great especially for kids. Its a great place to holiday for families, couples or groups.

Salou is one of best places I have been. The people are friendly and it is very clean and family friendly. There is more than enough to do with theme parks and water parks as well as the beach and little parks about for the kiddies. It was quite cheap if you find the right places to eat!! The food was also really really lovely!
