Don't be expecting an all singing and dancing 5* all inclusive
Dawn Proudfoot, Sunderland
We stayed here as a family from 22/7/14 to 2/8/14, very disappointed. Hotel it self is fine, pool, staff and bedrooms are great, unfortunately the food and it's hygiene are of very poor standards and myself and many other guests have been extremely ill with sickness, diarrhoea stomach cramps and high temperatures. Some drinks and snacks to at a price, to me this isn't at classed as all inclusive, if you do book at the Hauza please don't expect to much

Gone from 5star to 3 star
Sean Griffin, Blackpool
My partner and I wanted a week away to relax without the kids. We'd been to Hauza beach resort 4 yrs ago with my children (who were 12, 19 and 21 at the time) and the food and service were excellent. They had just built the spa and we had a fantastic treatment and massage plus there were plans to build other things such as more massage rooms, a gym and sauna to make it a five star resort. We met some really nice people who were so friendly and Couldnt help us enough and they became friends throughout the holiday especially with my children. the food was top quality and we couldn't eat all the many choices of good food their was, with theme nights every night, BBQ's and entertainment. We read recent reviews which were all bad but thought as it was reasonable and we were only going for a complete rest. When we went this time which is exactly 4 years to the day, we were given red wrist straps to show we had been before and this allowed us special privileges (they didn't say what). You could tell immediately that the place had gone down hill vastly. The staff were friendly enough but there was clearly a shortage of them. The food was scarce and the same every breakfast and lunch and dinner times their was a different theme but only two choices - usually fish or chicken. With the all inclusive you get two free meals at the restaurants onsight - one is Indian and one is a seafood restaurant. We didn't use these the first time we went so decide to try the seafood. There was one waiter who did everything from new bookings, to taking orders and serving. When he finally got round to us to explain how it worked, he asked us if we wanted beef, chicken or fish! I said its a seafood restaurant so I guess I'll have fish! The meal was a stir fry fish set dish, which was nice, but not what we were expecting. We ate out two nights and skipped lunches, eating only the oranges from breakfast. The pools were ok, but not been maintained as were the rooms. The place has clearly deteriorated due to money. It is so big they cannot fjord to maintain it and they cannot afford enough staff to keep up the standard it used to be. The gym was built but just a small room where the spa was with a couple of treadmills and weights. The spa and massage rooms were closed and the building they were in was not finished. At night they sprayed the many plants and bushes with water which smelt like it contained fertiliser or sewage! This put us off having romantic walks around the resort at night so we stayed in our room. On the last night we were there our air conditioning broke down too. One day There was a food van that came to pick up and deliver food close to our room which leaked rubbish onto the marble floors and I slipped and fell quite hard. I later found out it was oil from the cooking. The hotel was being inspected whilst we were there and some things were corrected, but I have a feeling with so many people complaining all the time and walking out, Hauza will be shut down soon unless someone invests some serious money into it. It's a huge shame because it used to be a great holiday resort for couples and families. The only good things was the snorkelling on their beach and the fact that it has so many pools including a 5/6 tier pool so there is plenty of room to swim. We often had a whole pool to ourselves. The rooms was ok, although we did stay in a junior suite the first time we went so did not have as much room. There were huge ants coming into our room as we were on the ground floor. We did tell the staff that we were disappointed but appreciated that it was not really their fault, at the end of the day they were very friendly and tried their best to help. Too many people were complaining on a daily basis and could not understand why we had gone back. On the other hand, speaking to people who were staying in different resorts, they said their hotels were not much different. If we do go back to sharm we will not be staying there again unless it improves vastly, however, you do get what you pay for!

sarah and tony, bristol
We have just returned from a 1 week stay at the Hauza Beach (13th to 20th of 11th 08). The hotel grounds and room was lovely, we had a young man who cleaned are room(clean towles and bedding ever day) he was great, nothing was too much trouble. The beach had plenty of sun beds and help was at hand if needed. Generally the staff in the hotel was helpful and happy to help, this could not be said for the reception desk who was disorganised, very unhelpful and would have you wait to be seen whilst they finished thier conversation. The star prize would have to go to the bar man at the pool bar, he never smiled and was very rude. The food at the hotel was the greatest disappointment, it was just shocking, poor quality, foods that should have been hot was cold. This I think could well be the cause of our groups tummy upsets. Would we return, not if you paid us.
