Review of 'HAYMARKET'

The rooms were clean, and cosy staff came in every day to tidy the room. The breakfast that was included was great you could have whatever you wanted from a fry up to cereal etc. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you.

Review of 'HAYMARKET'

Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was nicely decorated and had plenty of hot water and sufficient towels. Our request for more teabags was met promptly and politely. Breakfast was lovely. All in all a good hotel, nicely situated and very welcoming. Good value for money, we would stay there again.

Only stayed one night but was very impressed with room and service.  Parking spaces limited but nothing to be expected in Edinburgh.  Good value for money.

Review of 'HAYMARKET'

We selected the Haymarket from  "the overview" because we wanted a a quality hotel with traditional Scottish hospitality. We were offered unaceptable accomodation which was "tired and grubby".There was one curtain stretched accross the window which could not be drawn or opened. The pillowcase had a tear in it and the bedding had been washed almost colourless. On making a cup of coffee, the "lomg life "milk curdled where it had been left on a window ledge in the sun. On complaining , we were moved to a slightly better room which out of tiredness and desperation we accepted. In this room the shower had to be hand held as it was bound with tape. There were no toiletries supplied only a slither of soap. We arrived in the breakfast room to be told it was full! We did not experience "excellent service, good food and friendly helpful attentive staff". We had to find our own cutlery having waited for a table to be vacated and clear the used cutlery ourselves. Our waiter did attempt to brush the previous occupants toast crumbs away, but did not re-lay our table with fresh paper tablecloths. This experience ruined the end of what had been a lovely holiday and has coloured our view of Edinburgh.
