Parador De La Gomera Overview

This Parador, with typical island architecture, invites the guest to enjoy its paradisiacal setting and to contemplate unsurpassable views of the ocean, with the island of Tenerife and the Teide in the background. The interior is filled with marine references and navigational instruments which recall the ships of Columbus, which left the island for America. In the living rooms, the furniture combines Castilian and Isabelline styles, although a very personal, elegant and distinguished Canary Islands air isalso conserved.

Very enchanting

The town is very quiet and the location of the hotel at the top of the hill over looking the town gives it a grand atmosphere

The best thing about my stay was...

Furniture, paintings, parrot in cage, views from garden of Tenerife, friendly staff not too formal or stuffy

Romantic anniversary retreat.

Unique mix of traditional Canarian architecture and ye olde England furniture. Wonderful botanical gardens sit on the edge of a cliff overlooking the harbour. Our room was lovely (104) and doesnt have an adjoining room next to the bed, if you get my drift. There "is" a sea view but its mainly blocked by the wide variety of plants and trees. Better to take your glasses and sit at one of the many wooden tables dotted around the gardens, enjoying panoramic views from the cliff edge. Overall good value for money and memorable. Gripes... Aircon unit smelled like sewage so didnt use it as much as i would have liked to. No bar staff. Pool needs some work and some of the poolside loungers belonged in a skip. Taxi to town is 5 or 6 euros each way, but still cheaper than eating the art food at the hotel which would set you back about €70 a couple plus drinks. Staff highlight was the old guy serving breakfast coffee, very friendly. otherwise don't expect any welcoming service with a smile, but that applies to the entire island also.

The best thing about my stay was...

Memorable room, gardens and great views.

Beautiful location on a quiet, unspoilt Canarian Island. Staff helpful and friendly, rooms spotless and well equipped, food excellent. This is an excellent base from which to explore the island of La Gomera - the walking is superb and you know there is a relaxing soak and a good meal awaiting you at the end of the day.

Well worth it.

PARADOR DE LA GOMERA

A beautiful hotel set in a superlative location. Set on a clifftop, the Parador and its extensive gardens overlook San Sebastian with views out to sea to Tenerife and Mt Teide. It's a great place to relax and recuperate from urban life, as well as being an excellent base to see the island (by either bus or car).

What a pleasant stay at this hotel. From the moment you arrive smiling faces and helpful service. The large building is put to good use with large rooms, and thick walls, and long corridors decorated in antique chic style made it appear that we were on our own.
Some rooms have access to a shared terrace that runs out to a balcony above the cliffs looking down to the small port and marina below. Sunrises and sunsets are easily enjoyed.
Ok for non car drivers as accessable by taxi and if feeling active by a series of steps cascading down by the local homes to the town squares.

Review of 'PARADOR DE LA GOMERA'

In a beautiful spot at the top of the cliff above the harbour about a mile from the ferry. Majestic building with ample grounds and excellent 25m swimming pool. Bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious. Food is good and staff are very helpful. Great spot for exploring the island - max an hours drive to all parts (Tecina golf and Valle de Gran Rey and Garonjay National Park were highlights).
