Worth staying here if visiting Venice
Lovely hotel, right across from the train station and then 10 mins into Venice (1.25 euro). Rooms are comfortable, shower is great, good selection for breakfast. I would certainly stay again !!

Plaza Hotel - Vencice Mestre
Lovely hotel with friendly staff! Location was perfect being right outside the train station with only a 10 minute train to Venice itself. Rooms were cleaned daily and to great standards. Would definitely visit again.
The best thing about my stay was...The location and the friendliness of the hotel staff

Excellent location in Mestre, Venice
warwickshire Marni, England
A super modern hotel, ideally situated opposite the railway station in Mestre. The Airport shuttle bus stop is a few yards walk away from the hotel as is the stop for the bus that takes you directly onto the lagoon. Our plane was arriving late so knowing the location of the hotel I decided it would be the best place to stay. The staff were very welcoming & our room was very spacious & tastefully decorated & furnished. The beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, a good variety of food, fresh fruit, hot & cold selection, pastries etc. Very convenient crossing the road to catch the bus directly into Venice just a 10minute journey
The best thing about my stay was...everything was excellent

We chose the Plaza because of it's excellent location- directly across from the train station. We stayed here the night before our cruise leaving from Venice and the night after- having stayed on the island of venice before we found this a much more economically friendly option. Check in is quite late- 2pm but to be fair on our first night we were accomodated early. The rooms are fine & comfortable and the breakfast is basic but nice. My only gripe is that on our nights stay after the cruise Wifi was extremely poor in the room, we couldn't use the internet at all. It was perfect the night before the cruise but we were on a lower floor- maybe this was the difference? Overall- very good location for bus/train to venice, easy access to both airports treviso & Marco Polo- I would definately recommend the Plaza Hotel,

A perfect base for a Venice visit.
Tony and Cath, Emgland
My wife and I stayed here from December 27th - 31st 2012. The hotel is very nice with comfortable rooms. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. They spent around twenty minutes explaining to my wife the directions to 24-hour pharmacy and how to ask for a medicine that I needed. On the down-side, we were let down by the Soul Kitchen restaurant. We ordered two identical meals, only one arrived and we waited twenty minutes for the other one to arrive. By this time the "sides" were cold so I asked for them to be replaced. Once we had all the meal assembled we could not fault it. Quality or price.
The best thing about my stay was...We would stay here again.

Good value, well situated Hotel. Book the Vaporetto Dell'Arte.

This is the fourth time we have used Alpharooms and always found the service great. We booked three standard double rooms including breakfast for three nights at the Plaza in the peak month of August and the total price was £579 (on top of which tourist tax at 4 Euros per room per night is payable at the hotel) which was very good value. The staff are friendly and efficient, the hotel is clean, the air conditioning is good. Not quite up to what you would perhaps expect for four stars, but it’s fine and great for the price. The standard rooms are big enough, but compact. If you want a bit more room, then it may be worth considering a Superior or Deluxe. Not the best breakfast you will ever have (coffee was from a machine), but good enough, with fresh fruit available. However, the ground floor restaurant (Soul Kitchen) offered excellent coffee and a brioche for just 1.70 Euros and the evening meals there were first rate and good value with pasta dishes at 10 Euros, Sea Bass at 12 Euros and deserts at 4 Euros. There is an excellent supermarket nearby (turn right as you come out of the hotel, take the first right and the supermarket is about 200 yards on the left). Just before the supermarket is a good ice cream shop open until 11pm. with cones at just 1.20 Euros. Hotel is well located, buses stop right outside. The number 15 bus from the airport takes about 25 minutes and the number 2 bus takes 15 minutes to Venice. We found that the best option for transport was the Tourist Travel Card from www.veniceconnected.com. A 72 hour travel card costs 35 Euros (to include the number 15 to and from the airport is an extra 11 Euros) and depending on the time of the year, discounts can be available by booking ahead online. However, for ages 14 to 29, wait until you arrive, go to the Public Transport ticket office windows at the airport and the last two windows have Hellovenezia stickers. There you can buy a Rolling Venice card for 4 Euros which brings the price of the 72 hour Tourist Travel Card down to 18 Euros. You cannot buy the Rolling Cards in advance as you have to show a passport to prove you are 29 or under. These Tourist Travel Cards cover all the ACTV land buses and water buses including out to Murano, Burano and the peaceful island of Torcello which are well worth visiting (George Clooney visited Torcello last week!). For a real treat, add the new Vaporetto Dell’Arte (Vaporetto of Art) to your Tourist Travel card. This service started in June 2012 and offers air conditioned water buses with plush seats incorporating video screens and with audio commentary if you want it. They normally cost 24 Euros per day, but if you book it at the same time as buying the travel card, then the cost is just 10 Euros and lasts as long as the travel card. This is a hop on-hop off service every 30 minutes and they start at Ferrovia Stop E which is near Santa Lucia Railway Station. As this is a new service, the Dell’Arte buses are invariably empty as opposed to the standing room only ACTV water buses. You will still need the ACTV water buses though to get out to Murano etc. You can either combine the return ticket to and from the airport on the number 15 bus along with the Tourist Travel card and save 3 Euros, or you can buy the Vaporetto Dell’Arte along with the Tourist Travel card and save much more (you can only get one discount, not both). If you intend visiting museums, then it’s worth purchasing online a Museum Pass from veniceconnected for 18 Euros or 12 Euros with a Rolling Card. A big advantage is that you go into the priority/pre-paid line and straight in, thus avoiding the very lengthy queue at the Doge’s Palace. Kids will enjoy the natural history museum (Museo di Storia Naturale) which was impressive.
The best thing about my stay was...The Hotel's Soul Kitchen restaurant. Booking the new Vaporetto Dell'Arte.

The best place to stay near Venice
richard milner, Gifford
A four star hotel with beautiful rooms just a 10 minute train journey from central venice. The sight of people who want to stay in central venice lugging their suitcases down narrow cobbled streets searching for their hotels convinced us that we had made the right choice by staying in venice mestre.
The best thing about my stay was...The cost £45 per night for a double room

As a young couple with a 13 months old baby, the hotel was great and very well situated in front of the train station which allow us to reach Venice very easily. The staff was lovely and very helpful, they gave us great tips on restaurant around and the sites to absolutely visit in Venice. The downside was the attitude of the staff from the restaurant attached to the hotel who was not very friendly. To summarise, this was a great stay and if I have the chance to go back to Venice again, I will definitely choose this hotel again.
The best thing about my stay was...The staff
