Nice hotel and staff
James L, Glasgow
We have just returned from our family Summer holiday in Playa Blanca and stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks with our 3 year old twins. I should confess that I prefer villa holidays but we thought that entertainment and company would be good for the kids and opted for this hotel. We stayed on a HB basis and found the choice of food at breakfast and dinner to be very good. Eggs and omelettes as well as pancakes are cooked to order at breakfast and dinner had plenty of choice. Salads and fruit were good and plentiful my only complaint would be about the deserts, which were generally poor. Dinning in the same place can also become a bit repetitive and you should note that drinks, including water have to be purchased with dinner if you are staying on HB. I think that water should be provided. A good selection of wines were available to purchase but at around 20 euros a bottle this could be expensive. The animation team were all stars and our wee boy Finlay wanted to go home with Ava. Evening entertainment was cheesy but decent and the twins enjoyed the circus and juggling shows. Is this a 4* hotel? Probably not. Rooms were dated and furnishings need updated. Sleeping for 2 weeks on a couch is not to be recommended for a restful sleep or the back. For comfort, some sort of pull out mattress based bed needs to be provided in the family rooms. Ants were also a problem if any food was left in the room. Overall it does provide good value for money though. TVs are also outdated although some rooms have newer flat screens that get you access to more channels and alow you to change the language on some shows from Spanish to English. We eventually got one in our room and Peppa Pig in English was a godsend. Top tip Select Tools on the remote and second bottom option allows you to change the language. The pools were good and the pontoon that allows you to swim in the sea is great. Take some bread down and feed the fish. We also hired electric bikes from the hotel and these were great fun although again a little expensive. Dearer than hiring a car. The hotel is a fair walk from the marina and the centre of Playa Blanca but taxis are cheap and a limited shuttle bus service is provided by the hotel. Would I go back. Probably yes, especially if room furnishings were modernised.
The best thing about my stay was...Animation team

fantastic family holiday
Lovely hotel, great pool areas, amazing animation team, big shout out to Eva, who's is awesome. Food & drink good and plentiful. The guy doing the show cooking could do with some help at times as his overrun, occasionally leading to queues building up.
The best thing about my stay was...The animation were very friendly and welcoming, and the entertainment very good

Excellent value for money and exceptionally friendly staff
Michaela , Sweden
A well situated, clean, good value for money located hotel within a short walk to Playa Blancas Marina. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, although their lack of English sometimes could be challenging. I would though highly recommend the hotel. The apartments were very clean, functional , spacious and the housekeeping was exceptional. Lots of daytime / evening activities for all ages. Perhaps if you stayed more than one week you might tire of the food. Five stars in my eyes!
The best thing about my stay was...Location and good value for money

Although we know Playa Blanca well we had never stayed in the Papagyo area before. from the moment we arrived we were impressed with friendly helpful service and this continued throughout our stay. Good food with loads of choices, rooms cleaned daily, beach towels changed daily free of charge, bottled water in our room, great pool and daily daytime and night time entertainment who could ask for more, and all in a beautiful setting. Great value for money.
The best thing about my stay was...The great service

We arrived at the hotel and was pleased with our choice of hotel and location. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful . The porter kindly brought us a arrival cocktail and took our luggage to our room . We were up graded to a luxury apartment it's was great for the 5 of us . The facilities where good and room was cleaned daily . Food was very good and good choice of sea food ! The pool was good but the family pool was getting re tiled so my children couldn't use it , but it wasn't a problem as the could still use the main area . The spa facilities where great and I thought my back massage was amazing 😀😀 The animation team was great for the children and we loved the yoga and keep fit in the pool. My husband enjoyed the gym . We will definitely visit again soon ! Thanks again to all the staff Mrs Musgrave

On arrival we got a free upgrade. Fantastic view from the balcony, could see Fuerteventura, Lobos Island and Papagayo Beach. The pool has distinctive dark tiling, but the water is crystal clear. Staff were fantastic, food excellent. And the room had a fridge which was cool, could keep my beer in it , no problem.
The best thing about my stay was...Pool

overall a good holiday, pleasant staff, food good, entertainment okay but in the dark basement.. good sea views. hard to get on wi fi. bottled water every day, rooms cleaned 7 times a week. downside is that we were told on our last day that as we were leaving the hotel at 3.20pm the ai ends at midday!!
The best thing about my stay was...plenty of sunbeds, nice rooms, staff v good.

Was disappointed with our stay. We arrived to be told we had been given an 'upgrade' to a family room across the road. We arrived to a very basic room. No problem there. The main problem was the lack of air conditioning. I need a/c at night! It was very hot in August and A/C is advertised but it didnt work. A couple of queries later to reception and an engineer came out to have a look and told me straight to my face that that a/c was working. This despite me sweating! I would rather they say its not working or say there will be a charge rather than this blatant lie. To compound this we arrived in the room some days after lunch and the a/c was on and it was lovely. Then by evening time when you need it it reverts back to a fan with warm air cycling through. This is the crux of the disappointment. I had emailed the hotel and alpharooms prior to my visit explicitly requesting a/c in my room. They both assured me that this would taken care of no problem. That wasnt the case unfortunately. As a result we checked out 2 days before the end of our stay and moved to another hotel that had a/c. Apart from that the main hotel is much nicer than the 'upgraded family rooms across the road'. Pools were nice but very crowded which is expected for August. Similarly the usual rush to get sunbeds at 7.30 in the morning. The best part of this hotel was the pontoon that allowed you to swim or snorkel or just chill. This was fantastic as they sea was nice and warm at this time of the year. The hotel is fine if you are happy with basic accommodation with no a/c. I cant comment on the food as ww didnt eat there. The hotel is in a glorious position with amazing views of the bay. I have previously stayed in the Dream Castillo and Sandos Papagayo and I would say they are head and shoulders superior to this place.
The best thing about my stay was...Pontoon

Everything thing is 1st class but the rooms!
Rebecca Turton, Uk
Lovely location, amazing food (could do with a second a la carte restaurant), fab staff, very clean and gorgeous pool and lovely bars....but....the family rooms really need updating, these seem to be a block of apartments set away front the rest of the complex, nice to have a second pool but rooms are dated, our shower was falling apart and all a bit 90's- not 4* rooms at all, although if you just want space, they are big!
The best thing about my stay was...Pool, food, location

Wonderful all round!
Natalie B, York
Beautiful, clean hotel with lovely pool area, fantastic food and lively evening entertainment. The service was impeccable and all the staff are really on the ball. Great situation - within walking distance of the Marina Rubicon, Playa Blanca town centre and the more secluded and beautiful Papagayo beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would definitely stay with Iberostar again.
The best thing about my stay was...The impeccable and friendly service.

A pleasant stay in Playa Blanca
Matteo Rolando, Milano
Very good hotel, excellent food, great service. There s also a FKK nudist terrace for sunbathing on the roof. Negative point: swimming pool always too crowded, too many children and families around the pool all day, it s not quiet at all.
The best thing about my stay was...Food is excellent and with wide choice of different menu

Stayed at the hotel for one week 25th June until 2nd July. Can't fault it! got a lovely glass of fresh fruit juice on arrival. Multi lingual reception staff who are really friendly. Our room was right on the sea front so we had a phenomenal view! Rooms are cleaned every day by the friendly maids and we had no complaints about them at all. We went all inclusive and have to say it was worth the money. The food was plentiful and there was always something to choose from even for the fussy eaters. Pool bar food was good too. There is a huge swimming pool which is great for swimming in. There are plenty of activities put on by staff. The bar down on the 2nd floor is great for the entertainment at night too. All in all a fantastic holiday and would definately return! Thanks

Myself and my husband had a five night break here with another couple. The hotel was lovely and all the staff were very friendly. The quality of food was brilliant with a huge choice. We stayed all inclusive and would not hesitate in going back. Also the quality of the drinks were brilliant. One of the many things that suprised me was not having to rush for a sunbed in the morning, the whole atmosphere of the hotel is so chilled and relaxed. Fantastic hotel, located in a beautiful area would definately recommend a stay there.
