great hotel rooms pretty basic but clean, food was brilliant and plenty of choice, staff were wonderfull and roof top area for adults only was fantastic and winston the bar man up there looked after us very well. We especially enjoyed the entertainment up thjere on the roof on the friday night it was brilliant. Great holiday all round for us and what we saw of people with children they were enertained day and night by the lovely staff.

A very good hotel for families wih young childern, below 15 years

A very good hotel for a family holiday provided that the age group of the childern are 15 or less, plenty to enterntain for them with a good kids club and evening entertainment. the hotel is of a good but basic standard, rooms are on the small side, but adequate for what they are intended to do, rooms cleaned everyday, staff are friendly and helpfull, pool area can get croweded during the daytime and noisey if a lot of childern are booked in, not a hotel for singles or adults looking for a busy nightlife. food was of a good standard and plentyof it. gets a bit monotinous after a weeks stay, but i have no complaints as to the quality or service we recieved during our stay there at the end of may 2013. The sunloungers at the pool area would need to be upgrades as some were the worst for wear, the external and internal circulation areas would need upgrading, Painting. rooms were ok and clean. I would recomend this hotel to families with younger childern as a location for a good value sun holiday, you get what you pay for.

nice place to stay, plenty going on for the children and adults to join in with

nice hotel on the outskirts of Salou. Food was really nice although the restaurant got really busy with people queuing to get in. Pool was too cold to go in but may get better in the height of Summer.

Good family friendly hotel

This is a good, clean hotel at a very competitive price. The staff are friendly and most have good English. The food is varied and of a very good standard. It is about 20 minutes stroll on a flat route to the resort centre. It is aimed at families with children so it can be noisy and boisterous. The only criticism we had of our week there was about our fellow guests who were a bit rough to say the least. The got drunk, quarrelled and shouted and banged on doors all night long. Perhaps the cheap price attracts the wrong type of clientele.

Disappointment turned to pleasant surprise.

Dissapointed with hotel when I first arrived. Very busy, noisy & not as clean as I would have expected. Rooms small but big enough for 3 people. Pools not cleaned & most sunbeds filthy ( although they did start to be replaced a couple of days before we left ). Hotel needs to be renovated & modernised. On plus side, staff wonderful, can't do enough for their guests. Entertainment also excellent, quizzes bingo tribute acts acrobats, plenty for adults & kids. Food not great, but good always found something I liked to eat. Adults only solarium wonderful, very modern & relaxing, would love rest of hotel to be like this & it would be perfect. After a disappointing start I ended up having a great time at this hotel.

Best Holiday Ever, will be returning next year

I am a single mother with twin boys and this was my first time taking my boys abroad on my own. I knew it would be a busy week keeping them entertained all the time but could not of been more wrong. There was so much going on for the children during the day and evening they had a ball, there where other single parents families there also and all the children enjoyed playing together giving the parents some free time. the entertainment stops at 12am, and areas cleared by 12.30am, so there is not late night disturbances, the children all stay up till the evening comes to a close as there is plenty to do. The kids club will also watch ur children whilst in activites so you can laze by the pool or enjoy the adult only roof top jacuzzi and bar. the food was lovely, hotel clean and staff friendly and helpful. The entertainmnet staff were amazing, and there was always something going on for adults and children. As the hotel is so safe the children loved the freedom of having some independence away from me getting their own drinks meals etc. the rooms were small but clean, but we were only in thereto sleep as so much going on. the Hotel also has some apartments which were lovely but a two minute walk away from main hotel. I was glad i booked the room in hotel as my boys were able to go up to the room if they wanted something.Anyone who puts a bad review about this hotel is hard to please as you could not fault it. We will certainly be returning again next year as we loved it so much :) big thanks to all the staff for making my first holiday on my own with the boys so much fun and relaxed.

Great Family Hotel

On arrival our first impressions were poor to be honest, there are 2 pools which are small enough and sitting area/space around them can is limited. The rooms are small and there was only 1 socket to plug things into and this was located in the bathroom, we spoke to others who were staying in apartments and they raved at how big an d spacious they were so maybe apartments are the way to go, loads of sockets too. Once we accepted these small misgivings though we did quickly come around to liking the place. We found the staff very helpful and friendly, we were served quickly and the choice of food on the all inclusive was good and varied. I would reckon that if you went here at peak times though you may find getting served quickly or finding seating around the pool or in around the night time bar/entertainment areas difficult. All in all we would definitely return here but only around September, plenty of yound kids here to keep each other occupied, not for party loving couples or singles though, bar strictly closed at 12 and everybody out of sitting areas by 12.30 so the old trick of ordering 20 drinks for last orders and sitting till 2am drinking is not an option.

Great hotel and children friendly

When i first booked to go to Costa Daurada i booked the Festival Village but read the reviews and decided to change and i am glad i did. We have just got back from Villamarina this morning and we all thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. On a arrival it was a quick and friendly greeting and check in, the rooms are abit small but you tend to adjust but if you have more than 3 of you then i would definatley suggest an apartment as on my opinion i would not have coped as we had 2 adults and 1 child. The entertainment was great all english but the whole hotel was full of english guests and staff so it was home from home. The food was also brilliant english through and through to the point of roast beef, yorkie puds, mashed and roast pots, veg and gravy and apple pie and custard for desert. Everyday all guest adults and children could eat and plenty of it as the choice was a good and caters for everyone. The only complaint we had about this hotel was the pools and the terraces as they were very cramped and we only managed to get beds on 1 day out of our 10 day stay as i wasnt prepared to get up at 7am every morning to get beds, we did get seats around the entertainment part which was in the sun all day. Our little haven was the roof terrace/solarium for adults only it was another world up there and worth a look to escape for a few hours. I would like to pay the assistant manager of the hotel a huge compliment as he is an aset to the hotel as he didnt seem to go home and was envolved with all the guest helping with any issues or just generally wishing you a good day so hats off to him and im sure he should he should be the manager. So all in all we had a great time and we will be returning to this hotel soon.

Brilliant holiday from start to finish

My daughter and I spent a week at the Villamarina Hotel. We went all inclusive and the breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack-bar menu's were excellent. The entertainment was brilliant too. Really good family orientated hotel. We'd definitely go back.

2/10 Okay

not too bad at all

Stayed here on the June bank holiday weekend with my girlfriend and my little girl. Rooms were a bit cramped as its literally a hotel room between the 3 of us but it was certainly worth it for the price we paid. I would definately recommend it for anyone with a young family. Good and friendly service too.

room's tiny, never stayed in anything so so small but nice hotel

Stayed here for 5 nights in april, hotel itself is very nice but the rooms are tiny. Food was ok , always cold but great for children as they can help themselves to as much as they like. it is 30min walk to main resort and a taxie will cost you €8.00. The manager was very nice and helpfull....

Great Value, pleasant holiday.

Very welcoming staff on reception, quick check-in fuss free. Apartments are a 2 minute walk behind the building, basic but very spacious & clean. The AI food is fantastic, and plentiful, the choice is huge and desserts yum- you will not be hungry. Kiddies entertainment is excellent, the RJP entertainment team go out of there way to ensure the kids are happy(thanks James!).Salou centre is a 10 minute walk.
